Dear Friends of York Country Day:

When our community came together 60 years ago to build a new home for York Country Day School, little could they imagine thescientific and cultural changes that would define how we live our lives today. We compete on a world stage, forcing us to find newways in how best to teach our sons and daughters the skills that will help them succeed in their careers and find meaning andhappiness as adults.

The ethos that defines York Country Day as a warm and caring place has endured over these past six decades. But that is no longer'good enough.' We have been on a deliberate path to improve the caliber of our school in every way – our faculty and staff, the rigor ofour academic program offerings and the quality of our learning experience.

York Country Day School is committed to a rich curriculum founded on principles laid out by the International Society of Technologyin Education (ISTE) and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math). This focus will supplement our traditionalacademic offerings for a college preparatory school designed to involve all of our students every day. National reports validate STEM-related programs as a good predictor for future success for students. Our Head of School – Dr. Christine Heine – has firsthandexperience in applying this approach to independent schools.

Our signature feature will be the Ann B. Barshinger Center for the Arts – the centerpiece of our 40,000-square foot addition that offersSTEAM learning principles for all of our students (from K – 12). Our STEAM program will supplement the traditional academicofferings for a college preparatory curriculum, designed to involve all students every day.

We are asking for your support to help us transform our building into a model for 21st Century Learning. With your financialcommitment, our vision of making York Country Day “The Most Sought After School in Pennsylvania” can become a reality, not just a dream. And with this reality will come the prospect of a bright and rewarding future for our students and families.

Please join us in building the future for York Country Day School. Thank you.
