5. Remove steering column switchassembly from the original steeringcolumn.
1. Check cars tyre pressure and take the car for a testdrive and check the originalsteering system for faults. If all OK continue with the conversion.
2. Locate an ignition switched feed wire and label it. This is needed to switch theEZ unit on/off. Disconnect battery earth afterwards. Allign the steering positionto its center postion.
3. Remove horn button and steering wheel.
6. Remove cover underneath thesteering column.
4. Remove steering column covers.
7. Remove the mounting bolts from thesteering column and the Ujoint in theengine department. The column canbe removed from the car.
8. To create enough clearance for the ezunit some excessive material needsto be removed. See photo as anexample. Use the EZ unit to determinewhat needs to be cut.
Note: this manual is for a LHD drive car.Normally a RHD car is mirrored.Use the EZ unit to check where tocut
9. Once enough clearance the EZ unitcan be installed into the car. Watchthe Ujoint in the enginecompartment.
CAUTION; once the option regardingthe speedsensor is chosen,install the sensor prior to theEZ unit installation.
10. Install the original indicator switch assembly on the EZ unit. Connect theoriginal wire from the horn with the contact pin on the EZ unit. NOTE: in somecases it can be nessecary that the plastic ring from the selfcancelling must notbe refitted.
11. Install the ECU underneath the dashbord and connect the EZ harness with theECU.
12. Connect the thick red wire (30+) through the fuse holder directly with thebattery plus.
13. Connect the thin red wire through with an ignition switched feed (12v) wire.See point 2.
14. Connect the black wire (31) to an suitable earth point.
15. Connect the speedsensor with the EZ harness.
16. Install the steering wheel with hornbutton and cover underneath the column.
17. Connect the earth cable with the battery minus.
18. After the ignition has been switched on there is a click noticeable from theECU. The system is now operational, check this..
19. Take the car for a testdrive and check all systems. If needed adjust thesteering wheel position.
