1. The News Feed

Recent stories and top stories are now together on a single tab

The top stories, which Facebook thinks you will find interesting is highlighted with blue corners.

When you log in after being gone for a while, top stories, posted while you were away will rise to the top of your News Feed for you to see first.

2. Top Story. How is it determined?

Highlighted by a blue corner, your top stories are stories published since you last checked News Feed.

It is determined based on lots of factors, including your relationship to the person who posted the story, how many comments and likes it got, what type of story it is, etc.

If you see something that isn't interesting in top stories, hover over the right side of the update in question, click the arrow and click 'Unmark as top story' from the menu.

3. Editing what appears on News Feed

Removing someone or something from your list of hidden stories means those stories can appear in your News Feed again.

In addition to posts from friends and Pages you follow, you’ll see photo tags, friend requests, event updates, group memberships and other activity.

4. Content on the left hand corner of the News Feed

Clicking on different options within the left-hand column of your home page lets you view different things. News Feed, Messages , Events.

Below these four main views, you’ll see shortcuts to your lists, any groups you belong to, or apps you use regularly.

With the exception of News Feed, you can remove, replace or rearrange all items in your Favourites section.

5. Homepage Bookmarks on Top right corner

You can rearrange bookmarks for any apps, groups, lists, or pages that you have in your Favourites section. This section is at the top of the right-hand column on your home page.

We show you bookmarks for apps, groups, list, and pages in which you’re most active (this is based on click through rate and your usage). You can bookmark your favorites in one of the top spots.

Wishing on a Birthday

6. Innovative way to wish on a Birthday

You don’t need to go on anybody’s wall anymore. Just click on Birthday listings on right side of your home page and a box will appear.

You can write your wishes in the box which will be posted on your friend’s wall.
