The Akbal Family entered the automotive sector first in 1960 in Konya and, with the help of the second generation family members,

founded Fuzul Otomotiv Dış Ticaret ve İnşaat A.Ş. in 1992 in Istanbul to continue their activities in the automotive sector. The company made a name for itself as a reliable enterprise in a short time, and this reliability helped the family accelerate their operations.

As a result, the family founded some other companies such as Akva Sigorta Aracılık Hizmetleri in 1994, Fuzul İnşaat and

Afiyet Medikal in 2000, as well as Fuzul Autocity in 2003 and Autocity Auction House in 2006.

Then-Prime Minister, now President Erdoğan who laid the

foundation of Başakşehir opened Başakşehir’s first

shopping mall Olimpa. Olimpa AVM built by Fuzul Yapı in Başakşehir was opened

by our then-Prime Minister, now President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan wished good luck for Olimpa AVM and added: “I would like to thank Fuzul Group for providing the Istanbulites and Başakşehir residents with this huge

investment. Olimpa will add a different value to Başakşehir. I congratulate all those who worked up a sweat to make this

happen.”

Olimpa AVM built by Fuzul Yapı in Başakşehir, Istanbul with an investment amounting to USD 45 million was opened by our then-Prime Minister, now President Recep Tayyip

In 2014, Fuzul Group founded a new company called Nevita International in order to attract foreign investors to Turkey and Akbal was appointed as the CEO of Nevita. With its overseas sales figures, as well as direct and indirect operations, Nevita played an important role in bringing 900 million TL worth of foreign currency in Turkey in the last 2.5 years. Having been at the board of directors of Young MÜSİAD (Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association) since 2008, Akbal served as the Vice President of the association for 4 years, took over the position of Chairman at Young MÜSİAD in March 2013 and handed over that position in March 2015.
