PRODUCTIVE LANDSCAPE 4 2B STUDIOJULY 2010
Productive Landscape is an investigation looking at the relationship between nature and building. The project addresses issues of siting, spatial organization, circulation, structure, and tectonics, on a site within Ontario’s Greenbelt. The building is a proposal for a productive landscape strategy that engages the economic, cultural, and environmental forces at work within the site.

GTA GREENBELT 6 2B STUDIOMAY 2010
The GTA Greenbelt is a comprehensive study to better understand the ecological, environmental, economic, social, and cultural forces acting upon the urban fringes, the Whitebelt and the Greenbelt. Through this analysis, landscape can be understoodas a series of complex, inter-related processes, that includes hydrological, geologic, cultural, and programmatic systems.

GREENBELT LIGHTBOX 6 GROUP PROJECT
The Greenbelt Lightbox is a unique diagrammatic representation of the Ontario Greenbelt. The featured maps reveal urban sprawl, greenspace, and agricultural lands within the region.
ECOHOUSE 8 2A STUDIODECEMBER 2009
The ECOhouse is a LEED Platinum Certified and carbon neutral residence located in Cambridge, Ontario. It is located on a Brownfield site along the Grand River. The ECOhouse uses solar roof panels, a wind turbine and an efficient heat pump to acquire its renewable energy. The fresh river wind is drawn into the ECOhouse through larger south facing, operable windows and exits through the raised north facing, operable windows.

HOTEL 10 2A STUDIO
The focus of the studio was on the design of a dense urban hotel and on the individual and collective spaces associated with relaxation. The boardwalk feature is designed for the local community and hotel guests to interact with each other and nature. The project explores the relationship between public and private spaces that together create vibrate spaces of urban activity.

BLUE SKY MOD 14 THE HICKS PARTNERSIPAPRIL 2010
Blue Sky Mod is a pre-fabricated home designed for eco-friendly living. The structure is designed for placement in any number of settings, in a variety of configurations. It requires little site preparation and will use off-the-grid technologies such as solar panels and composting toilets. The prefab system includes interchangeable walls, windows, and doors, and a range of outside and inside material finishes. The goal of Blue Sky Mod, is to make housing simple and accessible for people so they can look at it, modify it, adapt it to their needs, go to their site and put it together.

COBACOPANA APARTMENT 16 INTOWN ARQUITETURA, RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZILDECEMBER 2010
These images represent the type of work done with the architects at InTown Arquitetura, during my four-month work term. During the initial client meetings, materials, furniture, and colour selections were discussed. Designs were then placed into a 3D computer model of the interior space, and rendered with SU Podium.

A CHAIR FOR JOHNNY CASH 20 DECEMBER 2011
A Chair for Johnny Cash is a custom built chair for the legendary musician, Johnny Cash. Known for his deep voice and dark cloth-ing, the design of this chair embodies the essence of Johnny’s character. This folding performance chair has been constructed from Padauk wood and metal bar-stock. In its upright position, the chair doubles as a guitar stand. The overall design and construc-tion embodies the spirit of Johnny Cash and his rock and roll legend.

URBAN BUILDING 22 3A STUDIOAPRIL 2011
The Urban Building is a dynamic cultural centre at the corner of Toronto’s Spadina Avenue and College Street. It is a place of gathering for a diverse group of people. The site merges public and private spaces togetherby inter-locking live-work studios with general offices. The Urban Building features a performance venue, cafe, art gallery, restaurant, and atrium space.

MARINE ECOLOGY EXCHANGE NETWORK 26 3B OPTION STUDIODECEMBER 2011
The ‘Marine Ecology Exchange Network’ is an educational program that aims to preserve the ecological integrity of communities and aquatic ecosystems in the Northwest Territories. By paring an educational facility with an existing shipping infrastructure, the ‘Marine Ecology Exchange Network’ is efficiently able to travel along the Mackenzie River with its cargo while researching hydrolog-ical elements during the trip and establishing a community-based monitoring program and shared marketplace at each port moni-tor their own water through workshops and lectures.

These images represent the type of work done during my eight-month internship with Brook McIlroy. The Downsview Fire Hall serves as the entry point into Downview Park, Canadian’s first urban national park. The building has been repurposed as a trail-head where park visitors can congre-gate as they engage in the diverse range of public activities and programs within the park.
