Qualifications of personnel / target group
Persons who work with the upgrade kit must be aware of the associated hazards when using the power unit.
Operating and specialist personnel must have read and understood the operating instructions, in particular the safety information and instructions, and applicable regulations before beginning work.
The operating instructions and applicable regulations are to kept so they are accessible for operating and specialist personnel.
These operating instructions are intended for:
Specialist personnel: such persons with corresponding specialist training and several years work experience. They are able to assess and perform the work assigned to them, they are also able to recognize potential hazards.

Using the heater upgrade kit
You can use the heater upgrade kit to extend the working range of the existing FAM.
The existing FAM does not achieve the desired dewatering rate or the existing FAM is for cleaning and dewatering a different fluid (contrary to its initial use).

1. Preparing the unit for reconstruction
Observe the following steps in order to prepare the unit for reconstruction:
Step Description
1. Empty the vacuum column (10) completely in manual mode. In doing so, observe the filling level display (9) on the vacuum column (10).
2. Switch off and disconnect the power unit from the power supply. Make sure that it is not live.
4. The unit is now ready for reconstruction.
2. Mechanical reconstruction
Observe the following steps for mechanical reconstruction:
2.1. Mounting the heater
Proceed as follows to dismantle the vacuum column:
Step Description
Unscrew the oil mist separator (6) at the screwed fitting (6.1) from the lid (3).
1. Undo the eights screws (2.3) with snap rings (2.2) and washers (2.1) from the lid (3) of the vacuum column.
2. Remove the lid (3) from the vacuum column.
3. Unscrew the eight screws (1.1), washers (1.2), snap rings (1.3) and nuts (1.4) from the cover of the lid (3).
To do this, remove the cover (9) and the screws and dispose of them in an environmentally sound manner.
Place the gasket (2) under the flange of the heater (1).
Insert the heater (1) through the opening in the lid (3) and align it correctly with the flange. Make sure that the screw type conduit fitting (1) fits on the cable guide (7).
Screw the heater with the eight screws, M16x90 (1.1), from the scope of delivery, the washers (1.2), snap ring (1.3) and nuts (1.4) and the plate (4) firmly onto the lid (3).
Insert the heater (1) with lid (3) mounted from above in the vacuum column. Align the holes on the lid (3) with the vacuum column and insert the eight screws, washers and nuts (2.1 … 2.3) by hand and then tighten them cross-wise.

Screw the oil mist separator (6) at the screwed fitting (6.1) of the lid (3) in place and tighten it firmly.
4. The installation of the heater in the vacuum column is complete.
2.2. Mounting the ETS temperature sensor
Proceed as follows to mount the installed cover of the vacuum column:
Step Description
1. Unscrew the screw plug (8) from the vacuum column.
2. Screw the temperature sensor (5) into the vacuum column and tighten it to a torque of 20 Nm.
3. The installation of the temperature sensor (5) on the vacuum column is complete.

3. Electrical reconstruction
Observe the following steps for electrical reconstruction:
Step Description
1. Install and connect all electrical components from the scope of delivery without exception, according to the enclosed electrical circuit diagram.
2. Use the cable guide (7) on the vacuum column for the supply line to the heater (1).
3. The electrical installation is completed.
4. Connect the unit to the power supply and switch on the unit at the main switch.
5. Activate the "Heater" option at the operating panel of the control. Details are available in the instructions on "Configuration settings, FAM 25-95“ 3672014 from the scope of delivery.
6. The electrical reconstruction is completed and the "Heater" option is activated at the control.
4. Carrying out an endurance test
Proceed as follows to carry out the endurance test:
Step Description
1. Activate an operating mode with heater at the operating panel.
2. Run the unit for 4 hours in this operating mode.
3. Monitor the unit during the test with regard to the electrical and / or mechanical reconstruction and leaks.
4. After 4 hours without an error, the permanent test is completed.
5. Attaching the notice-label
After the reconstruction, the unit's type plate is no longer equivalent to the unit status. As a notice for future repairs / service and when ordering spare parts, stick the enclosed notice-label (2) next to the type label (1) of the power unit so that it is clearly visible.

6. Filling out and returning the test report
Fill out the enclosed test report according to the values you measured. Also note down your first name, name and date of the reconstruction. Fill out the required fields legibly in block letters.
Send back the test report.
