TEMPERATURE-RESISTANT COATINGSThe manifold nuts can be additionally delivered with different surface treatments and/or coatings.

In addition to increased wear resistance, common QPQ and copper coatings also offer improved sliding properties. Another benefit is increased corrosion resistance, which ensures problem-free, easy loosening of the connection, even after extended periods.

In addition to better detachability and higher surface hardness, QPQ coating offers temperature resistance up to 600 °C. Further coatings upon request.

MANIFOLD NUTS WITH ROTATING WASHERTo reduce the friction values and tightening torques between nut and contact surface, it makes sense to integrate a rotating washer into the screw joint system for some applications.

The manifold nuts with captive and rotating washer, available in different variants, also protect the surface area on the manifold.

Application for contact surfaces, which should not be damaged.

TEMPERATURE-RESISTANT

ALL-STEEL LOCKING SOLUTIONSWe offer temperature-resistant all-steel solutions as additional anti-rotation lock/locking devices. The design can be produced as FS nuts and FSE nuts.

FS® All-steel Lock-nut --two-part 360° locking effect--

Locking element based on the offset in the retaining ring. This ensures an even locking

effect on all threads of the screw.

FS®-E All-steel Lock-nut --one-part 360° locking effect--

Based on the same principle as the FS lock-nut, however, the locking element is integrated in the nut

body reducing the required installation space.

STUD LOCKING

The greatest challenge in the development of exhaust manifold nuts is the consideration of thermal expansion and thus the stress distribution in the manifold. These stresses are usually so high that the manifold itself can be destroyed after a finite number of heating and cooling cycles. The stresses result in serious displacements of the joints, up to breakage of the studs in the area of the screw connections.

Varying rotational speeds cause massive pressure oscillations, which can lead to loosening of the screw connection.

In addition, the screw connection must withstand high exhaust temperatures up to 900 °C. We offer innovative, complete solutions for this highly complex application.

Using integrated, captive spring washers, a pre-defined pre-stressing force is generated, which is maintained even with progressing setting of the screw connection.

This ensures optimum sealing of the joining surface between cylinder and manifold and is also used as loss prevention for the nut.

The setting behavior and the resulting leaking of the manifold, which causes a risk of fire, are prevented.

Elongating the nut up to sealing on the manifold while tightening the manifold using the spring washer at the same time ensures increased stud stability. Because of that, the sliding bar can be omitted! Stud breakage caused by temperature fluctuations and the resulting linear expansion are prevented. Application for screw connections with pronounced setting behavior. The manifold nut in connection with stud locking offers a comprehensive locking system against loosening of the screw connection.

THROUGH INNOVATIVE PRODUCT SOLUTIONS!

RELIABILITY AND SAFETY MANIFOLD NUTS FOR

MAINTAINING THE PRE-STRESSING FORCE

The toothing on the stud face enables a positive-locking material deformation at the bottom of the hole, the stud creates in the counterpiece. The created teeth have a greater pitch than the pitch of the thread, which prevents resp. making loosening of the stud more difficult. Application for screw connections with loosening stud.
