Maxwell Street Market With all of the Maxwell Street events that are happening in the area I was curious about where the name of the events came from. Here is what I found out. Maxwell Street is a street in Chicago that first appears on a map in 1847 according to Wikipedia. The market was established in the 1880s as a means for Jewish peddlers to sell their wares. It existed for almost 100 years until the street was acquired by the university so the market moved from Maxwell Street. The market still takes place to this day every Sunday @ 800 S. Des Plaines St. in Chicago. This year 5 th Avenue United Methodist Church will have a booth at West Bend’s Maxwell Street event in downtown West Bend. In the spirit of Maxwell Street’s theme, FAUMC will host a booth (indicated on the map) with Fifth Avenue Family and Friends. Come by and have a delicious Cookie as we share our programs, ministries and missions! We look forward to seeing you!

Maxwell Street Market

With all of the Maxwell Street events that are happening in the area I was curious about where the name of the events came from. Des Plaines St. in Chicago.

This year 5th Avenue United Methodist Church will have a booth at West Bend’s Maxwell Street event in downtown West Bend. In the spirit of Maxwell Street’s theme, FAUMC will host a booth (indicated on the map) with Fifth Avenue Family and Friends. Come by and have a delicious Cookie as we share our programs, ministries and missions! We look forward to seeing you!

As you can see we are #’s 26 & 27 on the northern end of the event. Look forward to seeing you there.
