I hope you all had an enjoyable festive season with your families and a well-deserved rest.

I would like to take this opportunity to urge all of you to strive towards unity within the hunting fraternity, supporting associations like ourselves and CHASA as we fight an on-going battle against anti-gun and anti-hunting lobbyists. Organisations like the True Green Alliance (TGA) need to be commended and supported as they attempt to neutralise the propaganda of our opponents. In fact, CHASA has become a member of TGA which indirectly puts NCHA in a position of support too.

Graag wil ek van die geleentheid gebruik maak om die wenners van die 2017 trofee en fotografiese kompetisie geluk te wens met hulle prestasies en bedank vir hulle getroue ondersteuning. Dankie ook aan almal wat die AJV en aandfunksie bygewoon het.

Please note that no amendments have been made to the Northern Cape Hunting

Proclamation, as has been the case for the past few years. See page 15 – 17.

I want to remind our members about our junior activities for 2018 namely; Pikkie Day, Penkop Camp and our prestigious Winter School for young hunters. For more information about these events, take a look at page 6. On page 5 is the procedure for booking a spot on one of the two famous Research Harvests. The year program with all the Association's activities for 2018 is available for your perusal on page 22.

Our website is also up and running and it looks fantastic! Please check it out and have a surf around. Thanks to Wilma and Aeon which host our website.

Regarding Association activities, I would like to remind you that members are expected to keep their own records. The NCHA does not keep formal records of your activities throughout the year. The “onus” falls on you to keep record of the hunts and Association activities that you have participated in.These records are vital and for your own benefit when you apply for a new firearm license and for the renewal of existing licenses.

May all of you experience a fruitful and safe hunting season.

Remember: Make sure your cross hairs are on the right target and right area! Once you pull the trigger, it’s too late to stop the bullet!

Bespreking reëls1. Bespreking vir beide geleenthede open 9 April 2018 - geen bespreking sal voor hierdie

datum gemaak kan word nie.2. Telefoniese bespreking by die kantoor by 053-8311480 open om 08h30 op Maandag 9

April 2018. Bespreking sal op "First come first serve basis" gemaak word.3. U kan slegs vir een van die twee geleenthede bespreek.4. Slegs 45 besprekings sal per geleentheid aanvaar word.5. lndien u nie een van die 45 is nie, kom u naam op die bystandslys van die betrokke

geleentheid in die volgorde soos u bespreek het.6. Die eerste 45 op beide geleenthede het dan 4 dae om die volle bedrag van R 900.00 te

betaal hetsy kontant by die kantoor of Internet betaling(EFT). U moet self toesien dat u betaling by Wilma gemaak is/of ontvang is. Die betaling spertyd verstryk om 12h00 op Vrydag 13 April 2017.

7. Diegene wat binne die spertyd betaal het en dit by die kantoor bevestig het se bespreking is dan suksesvol.

8. Diegene wat nie binne die spertyd betaal het nie se name kom onderaan die bystandslys vir die betrokke geleenthede waarvoor hy bespreek het.

9. lndien die bystandslys van enige van die twee geleenthede uitgeput raak sal dit van die van die ander geleenthede aangevul word.

10. lndien u nie die geleentheid kan bywoon nie vir wat ookal die rede sal u u inskrywingsfooi verbeur indien hierdie kanselasie binne twee weke voor die betrokke "oes" geskied. So 'n kanselasie plek sal slegs deur die kantoor gevul kan word. U sal dus nie een van u vriende in u plek kan stuur nie. lndien so 'n persoon sonder ons medewete sou opdaag, sal hy nie toegelaat word om die geleentheid by te woon nie.

PikkiedagDie Pikkiedag is een van die gewilde aktiwiteite op ons kalender. Hier word jongelinge tussen die ouderdom van 7 en 12 jaar die basiese beginsels van wapenveiligheid, kennis van wapens en die korrekte gebruik daarvan geleer – ook die fyner tegnieke van die skietkuns.

PenkopkampDie idee agter hierdie unieke kamp is om ‘n geleentheid te skep vir kinders wat te oud is of te jonk is om die gewilde Pikkiedag of Winterskool by te woon. Dit is gerig op die ouderdom groep tussen 12 en 15 jaar. Wat uniek is van die kamp is dat dit ‘n ouer en kind kamp is waar die ouer en kind albei aktief deelneem aan aktiwiteite wat hoofsaaklik skiet-oefeninge insluit maar ook ‘n sekere mate van veldkuns.

WinterskoolDie Winterskool is al ‘n aantal jare een van die hoogtepunte op ons kalender. ‘n Wye verskeidenheid aktiwiteite wat betrekking het op jag en veldkuns word aangebied. Kenners op verskeie vakgebiede is betrokke by die opleiding. Die skool is gerig op kinders tussen die ouderdom van 15 en 18 jaar.Dit is ‘n belewenis wat nie gemis moet word nie.
