We would like to welcome you to our 49th Annual Fall Production Sale. With 67 years of breeding registered Hereford cattle we feel we have the experience to give you confidence in our program. As most producers in the area we were glad to turn the page on winter. It was in these extreme conditions that reminded us and ensured us of why we raise Hereford cattle. The Hereford cow showed resilience to the strong winds and cold weather. She turned little feed into pounds when feedyards went dry. And showed up when the storms blew over with calf at side. But with the record snow fall it left the water holes full and the hills green. What a treat trailing cattle to summer ranges in belly deep grass. Following record snow was above average rain and record crops, where they have been taken off in near perfect condition. Feedyards are in nice shape and chance staying there as with extra grass will bring extended fall grazing. The easy doing Hereford cows are fat and their calves look heavy. It appears we too will be eating well through the winter. At Fenton Hereford Ranch our goal is to provide top quality, ranch tested cattle. The Superman bull has certainly become a landmark sire for his easy fleshing and performance. The opportunity to bring his 129D bloodline was an easy choice. Zan is a 8 yr old buttermilk buckskin 15 hh. This good looking buckskin gelding has a good wither and foot and a big hip. Zan is willing to go to work every day and do whatever is presented to him. He is nice to be around in the barn and loads well. He will work on a loose rein and is quiet in the pen. When he works his head is down and is dependable in rough terrain. Zan will speed up when asked but will be satisfied to travel at any pace desired. If used regular Zan never changes but if left periods of time he will tighten up a little at the barn.
