Piston-rod cylinder en. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
1 FunctionWhen the cylinderchambers are pressurized the piston mo-ves backwards and forwards in the barrel. The pistonrodtransmits the movement to the outside.
2 Application The piston-rod cylinder has beende signed for transporting
loads and for transmitting forces. Usage as a spring or cushioning element is not part of the
intended use. Unacceptable loadings mayoccur. The devices can be used under the specified conditions*)
in zones 1 and 2 of potentiallyexplosive gas atmospheresand in zones 21 and 22 of potentiallyexplosive dust at-mospheres.
Operate the device onlywith compressed air of qualityclass 5 to ISO 8573-1. These products are not intended foruse with fluids and gases.
Use the product in its original condition without underta-king anymodifications. The right of use will be withdrawn ifmodifications are made bythe user.
3 Commissioning Observe the specifications onthe type plate. Observe all national and international regulations.
Warning. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The discharge of electrostatically charged parts can leadto sparks which can cause an explosion. Only use tubing and tubing bundles up to a maximum
outerdiameterof 20 mmfor operating devices. Connect all conductive metal parts togetherfor potential
equalization. Earth the complete system.
Impacts involving rust and light metal and their alloys canform sparks. Do not use anytools with corroded surfaces. Protect the product frombeing hit by falling objects.
Some piston rod attachments and mounting elements per-
mit oscillating rotary and swivel movements of the cylin-ders. It is not intended that these elements should be usedas plain radial bearings with peripheral speeds greaterthan 1 m/s. Unacceptable temperature increases mayotherwise occur.
If necessary, adjust the PPV cushioning facilityso that thepiston reaches the end positions, but neither strikes hardagainst them norbounces back.
Compressed airmust not be drawnfrompotentiallyexplo-sive areas.
Whirling up of dust can cause a potentially explosive at-mosphere. Compressed airmust not be blown into areas inwhich dust deposits canoccur.
When selecting materials for fitting and fastening accesso-ries, take into account corrosion, wear and reciprocal ef-fects. Use suitable accessories*).
Limit the numberand size of removable connections to aminimum. Use short tubing. Avoid mechanical stress.
Seal unused openings with blanking plugs or slot covers. Make sure that surfaces to be cleaned are easilyacce ssi-
ble.

Beispiel: Gewhlt: Ungelte Druckluft.
Beizubehalten: Stets ungelte Druckluft.
Verwenden Sie Verschraubungen gerader Bauform vonFesto.
