Feyikemi (Kemi) is currently a P4 PharmD student in the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical
Sciences. She is also in her second year of the Masters in Health Outcomes and Socioeconomic Sciences
(HOSS) program. She is scheduled to graduate with both degrees in 2017. Following graduation, Kemi
plans to complete a PGY1 and PGY2 residency to become a specialized pharmacist using her clinical and
health outcomes knowledge in an ambulatory setting.
Since joining the PCOR lab in the summer of 2014, Kemi has been involved in the Study to Measure the
Impact of Pharmacists and Packaging on Medication Non-Adherence (STOMPP) with a personal focus
on the clinical outcomes of the randomized controlled trial. In March 2015 she presented two posters at
the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) annual meeting in
San Diego, CA (Listed below). Aside from research, Kemi has gained experience from working as a
pharmacy intern at St. Luke’s Hospital (an affiliate of the Promedica Healthcare System) in Maumee, OH.
In the hospital setting, she gained knowledge about the workings of an inpatient pharmacy with first-hand
involvement filling prescriptions, making IV preparations and interacting with other pharmacists, doctors
and nurses.
As an immigrant from Nigeria, philanthropy is very important to Kemi and she participates in various
organizations that aim to serve the underserved. She is a member of the Student National Pharmaceutical
Association (SNPhA), APhA-ASP, and the International Society for Pharmacoeconnomics and Outcomes
Research (ISPOR). In May 2015, she went on a two-week International Service Learning (ISL) medical
mission trip to Lima, Peru with various health professional students from The University of Toledo.
During the mission trip Kemi gained cultural awareness through service-based learning and plans to apply
her knowledge and experiences throughout her pharmacy career. She is currently working on projects
with major advisor Dr. Sharrel Pinto and is excited for the upcoming academic year!
