What is Editing?
The actual process of editing involves the joiningtogether of separate pieces of film cuttingunwanted material, and joining the wanted strips
of film in a desired order (Speidel, 2012:97).
The task of selecting and joining camera takes(Bordwell and Thompson, 2010:491)

The ECU gets right in and shows
extreme detail.
The subject takes up the full
frame, or at least as much as
comfortably possible.
Shows some part of the subject in
more detail while still giving an
impression of the whole subject.
Normally shot from the waist up.
Half way between a MS and a CU.
Normally shot from the shoulders
up.
A certain feature or part of the
subject takes up the whole frame.
Normally the hole face.
Sets up where and when the
scene takes place. Shows the
relationship between people and
objects.

What is a Storyboard?
What does it include?
picture showing the main action of scene scene description
camera techniques
audio (narration, dialogue, voice over, sound effects, music)
Storyboards are graphic organizers combining two main parts:
images and descriptions of a scene.
They are a series of photos, drawings or clip art that outline the
sequence of scenes and major changes in a video production.
Storyboards help manage the timing of the production
