To differentiate prospective reflectivity-based AVO anomalies from just anomalies, multiple analysis iterations and QC steps are performed during the workflow. In this display, the AVO anomaly is evaluated using the seismic, synthetic data, well logs, petrophysical analysis, well locations, and interpreted horizons plotted on attribute volumes.

A traditional AVO analysis project generates attributes based on seismic reflectivity. TRICON can also perform an 3D inversion workflow resulting in elastic rock properties which provide a higher resolution solution than reflectivity. This example shows the elastic rock properties Acoustic Impedance, Shear Impedance, and Poisson’s Ratio. If your survey has enough long offsets (45-50 degree incidence angle) we can also estimate density.
