Using Art to Create a Calming Environment

The new hospital features more than 600 unique works of art depicting

tranquil scenes that incorporate the soothing colors of nature. These have

been created by artists around the country, however many are the work of

gifted painters and photographers from across lower Fairfi eld County.

Some tips to make fi nding your way around a bit easier:

» To access patient rooms in the new hospital, please use elevators located near the Welcome Desk in the Grand Concourse on the ground fl oor.

» Every fl oor has its own theme and is designed with three 12-bed pods, each with a dedicated nursing station. Pods can be distinguished by diff erent colors. West is yellow; Center is green; and East is blue.

» Each fl oor includes a Peace Room that families can use as a place to relax and rejuvenate.

» Families and visitors can also fi nd dedicated nourishment rooms, which include a refrigerator and microwave, on every fl oor. In addition, family waiting areas include outlets for device charging and vending options for refreshments.

» Patient rooms are equipped with the GetWellNetwork, which provides a range of entertainment options, interactive services (including free internet access) and patient education to help engage patients in their own care.

» Free wireless internet service (Wi-Fi) is available to patients and visitors across the entire Bennett Medical Center campus. To access the service, please select the Stamford Hospital Visitor network in your device’s Settings menu.

» Our gift shop, retail pharmacy and Freshii café (open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) are located on the concourse, near the Welcome Desk.
