Canyourememberwhenthedaysofsummerstretchedoutbeforeusaschildren?Weeksandweekslayahead,avastundiscoveredcountrytobeexplored.Lifechangesaswegetolder,butIamconvincedwestillgetthatoldsenseofendlesssummerdaysfullofswimmingandicecream,moviesandballgames,thedaysbloomingininfinitewonder.Whatdoessummerholdforus?SomeofuswillbegoingtochurchcampatKBY.Wehave27signeduptoattend,anastonishingnumber.Peopleofallageswillbegoing,bothtoworkandattendascampers.Pleasekeeptheminyourprayersasthesummerprogresses.OuryouthandsponsorswillbegoingontheirmissiontriptoWestVirginiaonJuly8.Theywillworkandserveandlearnandgrow.Prayforthemastheyjourneytodeeperfaith.OurSanctuaryChoirwillfillworshipwithmusiconJune3astheyleadusintheirfavoritepiecesfromthepastyear.ThenextSundaywewillworshipintheroundaswedidlastsummer.Iamintriguedandexcitedtoexperiencethisagain.WorshipandWonderwillcontinuethroughthesummermonthsasnewpeopletakeonteachingdutieswithourchildren.ThanksbetoGodfortheireffortsandenergy.Speakingofchildren,VacationBibleSchoolwilltakeplaceJuly16-19.Pleasebeinprayerfortheplanningandcalltoteachourchildren.Thisisadeeplyimportantministryofourchurchinthecommunity.Iamgratefulfortheworkthatgoesintoit.InlateJuly,wearegoingtotrysomethingdifferent.OnJuly29,wewillshareafellowshipdinnertogetherfollowingworship.Plansareintheworks,somoreinformationwillbecomingyourway.Oneofthethingsmissinginourchurchisanopportunityforeveryonetofellowshiptogether.Markyourcalendarsandplantobethere.WelcomingPamWoodwardtoministrydutiesonourstaffislikegreetinganoldfriend.Pamhastakenonpastoralcaredutieswithourchurch,checkingonfriendsathome,inthehospitalornursinghomes.Herfingerprintsareeverywhere,whichmakesmeverythankful.Ithinkyouaretoo.Somuchisgoingon,somuchthatisgoodandhelpfulandhopeful,inaworldthreatenedbyhatredandselfishnessanddespair.Yourchurchisaflameburningbrightlyinthedarkness,welcomingall.Comeandsee.
