Text on a PageAssignment 1

Purpose: An outline of the text helps the viewer see how text appears on a page. Each block of text can have a different feeling. Some text has lines that go back and forth while others are justified to be in a square. Color is another element that makes text stand out.

Reconstruction of LettersAssignment 3

Purpose: San Serif font is different than a Serif font. This project helped to distinguish between different font styles. Even San Serif fonts are different from each other, and each can be used for a different feeling. Finding examples of how these were used help to understand why each was used.

Solution: Text Recreated on InDesign Text in from magazines and everyday objects

What Makes a LetterAssignment 5

Purpose: Created on InDesign, this project was to recognize the repeating shapes that are in the alphabet. This project helped assignment 7, to design a new letter that fits into the alphabet.

Solution: Each letter is color-coded with the shapes that make it up.

Purpose: With the knowledge from Assignment 5 of the shapes that make up the Roman Alphabet a new letter was constructed that appeared to fit into the alphabet.

Solution: The letter was made up of “C”, “V” and “slanted –”

Illuminated Manuscript Brochure

Assignment 8Purpose: Take a PowerPoint that was created about Illuminated

manuscripts and translate it into a brochure.

Solution: This brochure is approached from an educational point of view. The brochure educates its reader on Illuminated Manuscripts and how they relate to everyday media.

Restaurant BrochureAssignment 10

Purpose: Create a brochure for a made-up restaurant with the inclusion of a sample of its food and directions to the new restaurant. Learn how a brochure is created and what attracts the reader to open the brochure and to read the columns.

Solution: This restaurant is also a brewery. The interior and front cover both have repeating images of three objects.

Real World AssignmentPurpose: To create a brochure for the Town of Esopus Library Foundation that makes the public aware of this foundation and encourages them to donate monetary funds to support the library.

Solution: The original solution included the library’s natural environment.
