Introduction

As you know, Flat Stanley is a very special boy – when that bulletin board fell on him and squashed him flat, he became just the right size to travel through the mail. Sit back and think for a minute about some of your favorite adventures that you read about when we read Flat Stanley.

Do you like to travel? Is there somewhere you’ve always wanted to go, but haven’t? Well, here’s your chance to travel with a friend and Stanley, so go pack your bags, and let’s get started!

The Task

You and a classmate (your travel partner) are going to go with Stanley as he travels to 5 exciting cities in the United States – a different city every day for 5 days!

Along the way, you’ll explore each city and find out who lives there, what they do, what they like to eat, and some of their favorite places to go. You’ll be able to keep a scrapbook to remember your adventures, track Stanley’s travels on a map, and then you’ll get to send Flat Stanley to one of your very special friends or relatives for a visit.

I can’t wait to see where you’ll go!
