a photo of him as well at some point. Men like Michael allow us the freedom that we have. My team thanks him and all the brave men and women in Iraq that lay down their lives so that we can live in the great nation that we do. May Michael hurry home safely to his family and friends and be protected by God’s loving hands. We have one person missing from our team photo. She pulled a quad muscle-- she took it for the team and ran very well. Team members in photo 1: (from left to right are: Anne Clemmons, Dorian Ramirez, Jennifer Hilliard, Henrietta DeLeon, and Gloria Lopez-Guerrero. Missing from photo is Delores McGee.

Norman Morton and James Doty

Our team was honored to run for y’all. Our team ( The The’s ) was fortunate enough to represent Norman Morton and my son’s team at Windsor Park Elementary was also able to represent James Doty. We were very happy to have 2 people represented by our families as I know there was a limited pool of people. I have never been in the military but I become VERY emotional about the rights and freedoms that you guys help protect. My family and I happily go up to any individuals in uniform and personally thank them any chance we get or anonymously pay for their breakfasts, lunches, dinners etc. My wife and I try to show our 2 sons examples of the right things to do in life and we believe strongly in thanking those that protect of our country. I did have several in-laws that were in the service and we are very proud of them. I was unable to get a team picture for you guys but a wonderful young woman named Sarah Jackson from Corpus Christi who just graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University ran the leg through the base very proudly and I couldn’t think of a better representative for our team. She is an outstanding young lady with great values so that is who we selected to represent Norman from our team. We are looking forward to doing this again if it is possible and keep up the great work for we are all thankful of what you do for our great country. Please let everyone know and from the bottom of our hearts many thanks, Take care and G-d bless, - Leslie Kane An email from James Doty’s family: “My name is Donna Monroe. I am the Mother of James Doty. He is one of the soldiers that is over in Iraq. I was told that someone will be running with James name on their shirt, to honor him. I was wondering if you could tell me what leg of the race this person will be running. We would like to go watch and also take pictures to send to James. I would also like to meet the person to thank them. I think this is a wonderful thing that you are doing. Many Thanks to you and all of the runners May God Bless each of you!” - Donna

Georgianna Chavez

We had a great time and it was an honor to run in her name. Please, put us down for next year. Emelinda "Mel" Rea - Arkansas Energy Services – Team Mel

Jenifer Dumpprope I would just like to say that our Team (Stroller Strides) was honored to sponsor Jenifer Dumpprope during our run. I did the NAS leg of the race, and said a special prayer for her and all of the service members that sacrifice for our freedom. I am a Military spouse and can't say thank you enough for their selflessness. It was our pleasure to sponsor her during our run. Thank you again for the opportunity! In Health, Melissa Erdner

John McKinney I will definitely do this by the end of this week, and also my girls got third so this is really really big for them especially since they dedicated their trophy to John McKinney the soldier. So for sure by the end of this week I'll be sending their pics of the three teams... Aide "Lisa" Perez, PE Para Webb Elementary School

Amy Fields

Our team ran in honor of Maj. Amy Fields. As I ran through the base I couldn’t help but think it was a bit of an analogy for what they are doing over there; the course being long and a bit lonely. There were a few soldiers standing by themselves at the corners to ensure we ran on the correct course. They looked so young and I felt humbled by their willingness to sacrifice themselves so that I could be free to actually run that day. Thank you for your service and my freedoms. Jaime Tijerina

The “Frank and Choley’s Little Angels” team was proud to run the Beach-to-Bay Relay Marathon in honor of Jamie Tijerina during the Armed Forces Day on May 16, 2009. Also, each member of our team was proud to wear the “American Flag” wrist band in honor of all the men and women in the Armed Forces. The 26.2 miles Beach-to-Bay Realy Marathon is comprised of 6 runners with each participants running approximately 4.1 miles. The team finished the race in 5 hours and 16 minutes and placed overall 1,576 out of 1850j teams and a total of 11,100 runners. We are very proud for your service and thank you for protecting our freedom. Family of Frank and Choley Devera Legal Eagles had 3 teams: “We were honored to do this. Tila Serrata

Hello Tila..... just wanted to share a team picture of the Road Pirates who ran in your honor. Members include: from left to right (Isidro Reyna, Jacob Villarreal, Joe Cardenas, Marcel Martinez, Johnny Johnson, & Erik Gamez). Our team finished 33rd overall & 10th in the open men's division. I hope your version of Beach to Bay was as successful as ours. We appreciate all that our Armed services are doing for us overseas, & want to wish you a safe trip back home. Because of your duty overseas it was an honor to run for you. I have a brother who is currently serving his 5th tour overseas....... this was a good way of showing my support. God Bless you & God Bless all men & women serving our country.

Kurt Hollier Team Mean Machine ran in the honor of Kurt Hollier. This was my second time doing the Beach 2 Bay event and had a great time running in honor of a hero keeping me free here in the U.S.A. Thank you for your courage and keeping us free from terror.

We made armbands too to help represent The Hurricanes in addition to the

Richard Staats

I would appreciate if you shared this photo with our honoree Richard Staats. Please let him know that our thoughts and prayers are with him. Please also tell him how proud and thankful we are for his service. Richard should know that one of the runners on the team honoring him was the race director Doug McBee. -Robert & Dana McBee: Why Have a Cold Drink When You Can Have a Hot Beveridge
