With white, ch 5.

Round 1: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of next 2 ch, 3 sc in last ch. Working on the other side of the foundation ch, 1 sc in each of next 2 ch, 2 sc in last ch. Join with a sl st to first sc. (10)

Round 2: Ch 1 and 2 sc in the 1st st, 1 sc each in next two st, 2 sc in each of next 3 st, 1 sc in each of next 2 st, 2 sc in each of last two sts. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (16)

Round 3: Ch 1 and 2 sc in the 1st st, 1 sc in each of next 4 s5s, 2 sc each in next 4 sts, 1 sc in each of next 4 sts, 2 sc in each of next 3 sts. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (24)

Round 4: Change to pink and working in BLO, ch 1 and 1 sc around. (24)

Round 5: Ch 1 and 1 sc in the next 7 sts, sc2tog (decrease) 3 times, 1 sc in the next 11 sts. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (21)

Round 6: Ch 1 and 1 sc in the next 6 sts, sc2tog thrice, 1 sc in the next 7 sts, sc2tog. Join with a sl st to the first st. (17)

Round 7: Ch 1 and 1 sc in the next 5 sts, sc2tog thrice, 1 sc in the next 6 sts. Join with a sl st to the first st. (14)

Round 8: Ch 1 and working in FLO, sc around. Join with a sl st to the first st and weave in ends. (14)

SHOES (make 2)

From this point onwards, work in continuous spirals unless otherwise specified.

Round 9: Fold the open edge of the shoe outwards, exposing the ‘free’ back loops on Round 8 and join white yarn for socks. Sc around. (14)

Round 10-11: Sc around. (14)

Round 12: Working in FLO, sl st, ch 2, hdc around. (14) FO and weave in ends.

SOCKS (make 2)

Round 13: Fold the edge of the sock outwards, join skin color on one of the free back loops on Round 12 and sc around. (14)

Now will be a good time to start stuffing the shoe.

Rounds 14-29: Sc around. (14)

Round 30-32: Join light yellow for underwear and sc around. (14)

FO and stuff firmly.

LEGS (make 2)

MATERIALS

Yarn: White, pink, skin, light yellow, light green, dark

green, purple

Crochet hook

Tapestry needle

Polyfiber fill

Beads or charms (optional)



Round 33: Working with yellow, hold both legs together, making sure they face the same direction, and insert hook into the 2 stitches that meet in the center, YO and make a sc. Continue making sc stitches around both legs. (28)

Round 34: (1 sc, 1 inc) around. (42)


LOWER BODY

Round 1: Join light green at Round 39 and sc around. Join with a sl st to the first st.Round 2: Ch 3, dc around.Round 3: Ch 1, hdc around.

Round 4: Join dark green and sl st around. FO and weave in ends.

SKIRT

Round 1: Working on the front posts of the skirt (where skirt and body meets), sc 12 with light green yarn. Make sure these 12 sts are properly aligned to the center of the body. Turn.

Round 2: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc 8, sc2tog. (10) Turn.




Rounds 6-8: Ch 1, sc 4.

FO, weave in ends, and sc around the edges with dark green. FO.

SKIRT TOP FLAP

Join dark green at either of the top corners of the skirt flap and ch 20. Repeat at the other corner. Cross the straps at the back and sew in ends at the skirt’s waist.

STRAPS (make 2)

Round 38: Join pink and sc around. (42)

Round 39: Working in BLO, sc around. (42)

Round 40: Join yellow and sc around. (42)

Round 41: (5 sc, 1 dec) around. (36)

Round 42: With pink, (4 sc, 1 dec) around. (30)


Round 44-45: With yellow, sc around. (24)

Round 46: With pink, (2 sc, 1 dec) around. (18)

Round 47: Sc around. (18)

Round 48-49: With yellow, sc around. (18)

Round 50: With pink, hdc in FLO. (18)

FO, weave in ends and start stuffing the body.

UPPER BODY

Round 51: Join skin color at the free back loops on Round 50. (1 sc, 1 dec) around. (12)


FO, weave in ends and stuff.

NECK



Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring with skin color.

Round 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12)
















FO. Attach safety eyes, stuff firmly and sew to body.

Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring and skin colored yarn.




In the next round, we will shape thumb with a bauble stitch. If you are unfamiliar with this stitch, a how-to is included at the end of this section.

Round 5: (1 sc, 1 dec) X 3, bauble st in the next st, 1 dec, (1 sc, 1 dec)X2. (12)


Round 7: (2 sc, 1 dec) X 3. (9)


Start stuffing the arm.


Round 17-18: With pink, sc around. (9)

Round 19: With yellow, (2 sc, 1 inc) around. (12)






Stuff.

Round 25: Sc2tog X 6. (6)

Sew the top opening close and sew to body.

ARMS (make 2) HEAD

How to Make a Bauble Stitch

YO, insert hook into next st, pull yarn through (loops on hook = 3), yo, pull through 2 loops (loops remaining on hook = 2),

(YO, insert hook into the same st, YO, pull through, YO, pull through 2 loops) X 2 (loops remaining on hook = 5),

YO, pull yarn through all 5 loops.



Round 1: With purple, 6 sc in a magic ring with skin color.








Round 9-14: Sc around. Turn.

Round 15: Ch 1, sc 1 into the next st, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 4 tr, 3 dc, 2 hdc, sc in the next 28 ch, 2 hdc, 4 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc.

FO. Sew wig to head.

WIG

Round 1: With purple, 6 sc in a magic ring.






FO. Stuff and attach on sides of the head.

HAIR BUNS

OPTIONAL: Sew or glue tiny beads or charms to the hair buns and on front of the skirt top flap. With a small length of white yarn and tapestry needle, weave in shoe laces and tie a bow.
