It’s easy to enhance your lifestyle with trendsetting DIYs.

1 Cut the MDF board to the dimensions listed in the cutting list, using a Festool track saw.

Using a jig saw, cut out the patterns drawn in Step 2.

Using glue and pocket hole screws, join the back to the two sides. 5

Using glue and pocket hole screws, join the front to the sides.

Apply glue to the edges of the base, then slip it inside the assembled sides. Using pocket hole screws, join the base to all four sides.

What you doDraw three templates on paper, one for the back, one for the sides and one for the front. See our diagrams for help. Once you’re happy with your templates, trace them onto the respective pieces of MDF. You’ll need to copy the side template twice.

Using the Kreg jig, drill pocket holes into the back, sides and base, as per the diagrams. Make sure you drill on the inside face of the sides.

Use the Triton router and router table to put a patterned edge on one side of all three pieces of trim.

Using the Festool track saw (or a mitre saw), cut 45° edges on both ends of the front trim, and one end of each side trim.

Sand the construction smooth, and paint.

Attach the front trim and then the side trim using glue and panel pins.
