The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District was created in June 1972 and currently maintains 13 parks for your enjoyment. Ottawa Metro Park is located in Bath Township, east of Lima, on St. Rt. 81 (2632 Ada Road), adjacent to the Park District Office, McLean Teddy Bear Park and Allen County Farm Park. The beach is 450 feet in length and features wheelchair access, a “raindrop” Water Fountain, “Free Fall Extreme 10Ft. Water Slide, surf slide, children’s swimming area, vending machines, changing area and restroom, two shade structures, and covered picnic area. The beach is protected by certified lifeguards and park rangers will be at or nearby the area for visitors’ total safety. Hours of operation are 12 Noon to 7:00 p.m. Hours may be adjusted according to weather conditions, and/or low attendance. Water & air temperature must be 70° F for the Beach to open. During cool or inclem-ent weather periods please call the Beach to verify if we are open. Other features of Ottawa Metro Park include: Camping, 3 reservable picnic shelters with electricity, play equipment, perimeter path, 18 hole Frisbee golf course, amphitheater programs, and Lima Lake Reservoir for fishing and boating (electric or wind powered).
