GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) is a set of guidelines for assuring the quality of production processes in regulated industries and closely follow the guidelines issued by the European Commission or the FDA in the US.

GMP applications are typically used in the pharmaceutical and food industries. However, products that conform with GMP guidelines are also required for the manufacture of cosmetics and fragrances or flavors.

The materials selected, design of the surfaces, and architecture of the overall system should prevent the accumulation of fluids and dirt. The mechanical components must be easy to safely inspect, maintain, service, and clean.

Monitors that connect to Host PCs are available as high-quality industrial monitors with or without KVM extension. Direct monitors are used for applications when the monitor is located close to the Host PC. Is the distance between monitor and Host PC more than some meters a monitor with KVM extender is used.

Network based operator workstations are available as Remote Monitors or as PCs. Both use standard Ethernet for communication. Remote Monitors are typically connected with a DCS system, while Panel PCs are often used in combination with PLCs or as a stand-alone solution. Basically the maximum distance for data transfer is unlimited.

VisuNet GMP – A WiDe RANGe OF MODeLs

The VisuNet GMP product family offers a wide range of models. Various display types, key- board layouts for international use and mouse types are available as well as a large number of mounting options, alternative data transfer methods, and additional functions.

KeYBOARDs

Antibacterial membrane keyboards in stainless steel housings for the VisuNet GMP are available with customized layouts for use in various countries.

MOuse VeRsiONs

Various mouse versions can be selected irrespective of the keyboard layout: The range includes mechanical and visual trackball mice, touchpads and joysticks. The optical trackball has a removable trackball that can be removed for cleaning.

scANNeR

Handheld barcode reader can be connected via standard interfaces (serial or USB).

MOuNtiNG OPtiONs

For all operator workstations with GMP suitability a pedestal (fixed or turnable) is available. VisuNet GMP PCs and monitors for safe areas can also mounted on the wall, either with a wall bracket or a support arm (fixed or turnable).

MONitOR

All VisuNet GMP products are available with 48,3 cm (19 inch) display with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels. Most are also offered with 55,9 cm (22 inch) display and a resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels. All VisuNet operator workstations are available with touchscreen displays.

APPROVALs

VisuNet operator workstations are available as VisuNet GMP for safe areas and VisuNet EX2 GMP for Zone 2 and 22 (ATEX). In addition to input via interfaces and barcode reading, RFID option is are available on request.
