Narrative Summary and Highlights Schedule - Based on critical path analysis, this project is behind schedule by 3 weeks, declining slightly, and is predicted to finish 3 weeks
behind schedule, and holding steady. Caution is advised given the following assessment of WBS 3.1.5.
Poor schedule performance on WBS 3.1.5, "Firmware Development" has put it on the critical path. All 5 weeks of float have been
consumed. The team is struggling to implement a new RTOS and ethernet core. The team is bringing in an expert from the RTOS vendor to
help address these issues and finish Firmware development. Lesson learned - dig deper for risks during the planning phase and mitigate
the risk with budget, reserve, and adequate/expert resources.
Strong schedule performance on WBS 3.1.4, "Software Development" has removed it from the critical path. Performance will continue
to be monitored in case it needs to be tracked back to the critical path.
Cost - Cost performance reveals that the project is slightly over budget and improving slightly. Caution is advised given the struggles
mentioned above on WBS 3.1.5, which may have a ripple effect on overall cost performance. The entire project team has been advised to
watch their budgets closely and to seek efficiencies to mitigate possible ripples.
