SUNDAY: 16 APRIL: EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD

FROM THE PASTOR Dear Parishioners, Happy Easter! Jesus is risen from the dead. Alleluia! Today we celebrate the glorious resurrection of our Lord in the body, the same body he had on earth. The resurrected body is no longer limited to the earthly rules and yet it is the same body. We will all have the resurrection of the body at the end of the world, gloriously for those who enter Heaven. Only Jesus and Mary have their resurrected bod-ies in Heaven now. Where they have gone we hope to follow.

I hope you all have a beautiful Easter season. It lasts longer than Lent. Easter goes for 50 days through Pentecost Sunday. I en-courage you to do some special devotion during the Easter season. There can be a let-down after the devotions of the Lenten season. So I suggest the Stations of Light, which you can find on the internet. It is similar to the Stations of the Cross except that the theme is the resurrection appearances.

Thanks to all who decorated the church and served at the Masses in any way throughout this Easter Triduum. You have helped us to worthily celebrate the mysteries of our salvation. Thank you very much!

Our Diocesan Centennial Campaign is progressing nicely. You should have received your pledge card, if you did not then you are not registered here or we do not have your current address. Please contact us about that. There are 5 case elements for this $42.5 mil-lion dollar diocesan campaign. Our parish goal is $440,000.00 for Sa-cred Heart and $35,000.00 for Belaire Cove. 30% of monies collected up to goal come back to us and 50% after goal. I’m glad to report that Sacred Heart Church is now at 95% and Belaire Cove is at 122%. Don’t forget after we reach our goal we get to keep 50% of monies received after that. So let’s surpass our goal and keep on going!
