Teacher AppreciationDuring Quarantine

It’s apparent to me now more than ever how much our teach-ers deeply care for and love the kids they teach. Their effortsdeserve a virtual round of applause.Teacher Appreciation Day is May 5th, and while we can’tbring in a bouquet of flowers or a cute Pinterest-y gift to showour love, we can still shower our teachers with appreciation forthe outstanding work they’ve done during this unprecedentedtime.

Here are five ideas you can show your love and appreciation for your teachers during the shelter-in-place:• Send them dinner or a sweet treat. Everyone enjoys a nightoff from cooking. You can send them a gift card to their favoriterestaurant or bakery.• Send them Flowers! You can call ahead & order front porchdrop off.• Send a video message from your kids. Just as much (or more)as your kids are missing school, your child’s teacher is missingyour kids! Ask your kids what they love most (or miss most)about their teacher and email it to them. (TIP: Even if youchoose to do one of the other ideas, do this one, too. Yourchild’s teacher will love it!)• Mail a card and/or a drawing. If the teachers at your schoolare able to go into the school to pick up mail, take this opportu-nity to send a card and drawings from your kids. Everyoneloves fun mail, and a note of encouragement would be a sweetsurprise.• Send them coffee! You can send them a coffee gift card.

2020 NORTH JUDSON MINT FESTIVALCANCELED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS

It is with heavy hearts, the Officers and Directors of the Mint FestivalCommittee made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 North Judson MintFestival scheduled for Father’s Day Weekend, June 19-21, 2020 due to theCoronavirus situation. Our first and most important goal is to keep all of ourfestival visitors and volunteers safe. Our decision is to comply withGovernor Holcomb’s five-stage plan to get “Indiana Back on Track” whichdoes not allow for festivals and parades until at least July 4th.Mint Festival President Donna Henry stated “The North Judson MintFestival, held annually on Father’s Day Weekend, has never been canceledsince its inception in 1977, and this would have been the 44th Annual MintFestival. It is the biggest event of the year in North Judson for our families, and it breaks our hearts that we will not be able to hold the festival this year.”We did consider postponing the Mint Festival to a different weekend, butthat was not a viable option.”We want to thank all of our loyal advertisers in our “Green Paper” and sponsors of our events/attractions who have already sent in their payments. We will be contacting every one of these businesses or organizations con-cerning their payments. All of our events and attractions held as part of our Mint Festival have beencanceled including the Queen/King and Mint Darlings Pageants, Car Show, bands, parade, and vendors as well as our special attractions. We want to thank all who have been involved in our Mint Festival in pastyears, and we look forward to working with all of you again for our 2021Mint Festival to be held June 18, 19, 20. And, now……..an announcement may be forthcoming concerning a possiblespecial event. Be certain to watch for it!

Any inquiries concerning our Mint Festival can be directed to the following email: [email protected]
