Rock Solid, by Patchwork Place

Maisie Bowler Bag

The book Rock Solid, by Patchwork Place, features thirteen quilts made with Kona Cotton Solids. These quilts are very modern and stunning using only a few solid colors. I changed them up a bit and used prints. I think the result is still pretty nice.

The Maisie Bowler Bag by Swoon Patterns is a retro style handbag. I used a leather-ish fabric for my accent details and handles. The look is pretty impressive.

Handi Quilter Classes at the Sewing ExpoRocky Mountain Sewing & Vacuum is holding hands-on quilting classes with HandiQuilter Educators, Kelly Ashton and Gina Siembieda at the Quilt Craft & Sewing Festival held at the Denver Mart on March 22nd - 24th. Morning and afternoon classes are offered. Sign up for one, some, or all. Be prepared to love the HandiQuilter longarm machines designed by a quilter for quilters!

Kelly Ashton joined Handi Quilter as an educator in 2013. As a previous quilt shop owner, Kelly acquired extensive experience teaching appliqué, piecing, and longarm quilting classes in her shop and at local quilt guilds.

Gina Siembieda started sewing at age 12 when her Grandmother gave her a sewing machine. It was love at first stitch and she has been sewing ever since. Her love of quilting was born in 1985 when she bought her first hand-quilted Amish quilt in Lancaster PA. Soon after, she joined a quilt guild, learned to quilt and began teaching others!
