A-Level exams are tough, and the exam calendar has been very busy this year. I am left feeling incredibly proud of the commitment and determination that students have demonstrated over the exam period. I am sure that students are now looking forward to their extended summer break and taking some time to relax and recover from the hard work. Alongside the huge amounts of work students have undertaken, I must also pass on my thanks to my colleagues in Sixth Form for the superb level of support and guidance they have provided to students in preparation for their exams. A Huge Thank You This is the final weekly newsletter that Y13 students and their parents/carers will receive, now that Y13 courses are complete. We are looking forward to seeing students again next week at the graduation events and then again in August on A-Level results day. I must pass on my huge thanks to parents/carers for all of your support over the past two years. We look forward to celebrating was are predicted to be excellent results in August. As well as the graduation events (summarised below), students are requested to attend Sixth Form on 17 August 2017 to collect results statements. Sixth Form will be open to students from 08.00am on Thursday 17 August 2017 for students, parents/carers. For those students who are moving to university places, we will be on hand to help with this process. This application is an important document which will be used to apply for the shortlist of courses that students have selected. I spoke to students this week about the importance of this application and the priority that this needs over the next two weeks.

Y12 Work-Related Programmes: Course Completion There are a number of Y12 students who are now very close to completing 12-month programmes. For those studentswho study on our work-related programme, Maths & English programmes are now very close to completion. Once theseexams are completed, students will be able be able to complete the academic year. Exam results for all GCSE English &Maths exams are available from Sixth Form from 09.00am on 24 August 2017. If students are unsure about when theirMath & English courses finish, please check with your teacher.

25th April 2017 Dear Student/Parent, The Celebration Ball has been arranged for THURSDAY 6TH JULY, 2017 at Solita’s Winckley Square from 7.30 p.m. to midnight. The cost of the whole event is £25.00. This includes the venue hire, a drink on arrival, a 3 course meal, entertainment, decorations etc. The Celebration Ball is a celebration of, in most instances 7 years at Carr Hill. It is also a formal event, therefore, there is an expectation with regard to dress. Ladies will be expected to wear dresses/ball gowns whilst the gentlemen should wear suits (lounge or dinner suits). On arrival there will be a drink before the meal, commencing at 7.30 p.m. To ensure that there is sufficient interest in the Ball, it would be greatly appreciated if a £10.00 deposit (non-refundable) could be paid before Friday 28th April, 2017. This date is crucial as if there are not sufficient numbers, alternative provision will have to be sought. Please complete the consent form below and the attached medical form and return to me before Friday 28th April 2017. We prefer on-line payments which can be made via the School’s website.
