From the Pastor’s Heart
VOLUME 2 November 30, 2014 NUMBER 48
“We have chosen the way of truth.” Psalm 119:30
Greetings Southside Family, "O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms." (Psalm 95:1-2). "Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."(Colossians 1:12-14). The priority of our thanksgiving starts with our deliverance and freedom from the penalty of sin by the payment of a ransom-the substitutionary death of Christ. We are no longer under the dominion of evil but under the rule of the Lord Jesus Christ! Each and every day we should come before Him with thanksgiving and praise. I preached a message a few weeks ago, entitled, "GOD'S WAKE UP CALL". We looked at Joel chapter 2. In Joel 2:15 says, "Blow a trumpet in Zion, con-secrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly." We have scheduled a solemn assembly service tonight at 6pm. I really believe that this is going to be a life changing service. We are going to alternate between times of worship and seasons of prayer. We will start each season of prayer with a time of reflection in God's Word. Isaiah 64:1 says, "Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at Your presence." Please make plans to be a part of this powerful service tonight. Just a reminder about our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering Ingathering next Sunday. This offering goes to support Southern Baptist missionaries that are serving internationally. Our church goal this year is $25,000. Also, next Sun-day we will be voting on a prospective music minister immediately following the morning worship service. We will release his name on December 3rd and have a time of questioning and answering at 7pm in the fellowship hall. A meet and greet time for our prospective candidate will be on December 6th between 2-4pm. Love you church! For His Glory, Bro Stacy

WOW! The Student Ministry bake auction fundraiser was a GREAT success!! I am overwhelmed with thankfulness for be-ing a part of such a generous and loving church family. Thank you to each one that brought in your “Confectionary Master-pieces” to auction off, also thank you to each one who bought those cakes, pies, cookies and such. Much love was baked in each of the items auctioned off and it showed through the sup-port you granted the Student Ministry in taking part. To say that we are overwhelmed is actually an understatement; words can-not express the gratitude we feel. Your efforts will go a long way toward helping our students get to the “Strength2Stand” winter conference, and also to our “StudentLife” camp in July. Thank you, Dewayne and the Youth Committee
