What does the Bible say...Creating a better community In Luke 6:27-30 (NKJV), Jesus Christ taught us some simple ways we can all contribute to build a better community. Let us all read the passage below;“But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. “Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.”In life so many things happen which make people bitter, which sometimes lead people to become disillusioned with the world they live in. Sometimes these happenings make us function less well than what we are normally capable of accomplishing. In Jesus’ teachings above, He tries to list a few practical ways we can all contribute to making our communities a better places for all. As honourable members of the GBC community, it is recommended that all of us considers Jesus’ words in this

passage as listed below, and endeavour to individually contribute to create a better community for all of us. 1. Love your enemies.2. Do good to those who hate you.3. Bless those who curse you.4. Pray for those who spitefully use you.5. When someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also.6. If someone takes your suit, add the trousers as well.7. Help others in need if you can.8. Don’t expect people to refund stuff you give out. This may seem a very tall order by just looking at what is happening in the wider community, but let us pray to God for grace and strength to enable us to practise these things.Let us all get out there and dare to make a difference in life.
