Plans/designs for the ancillary texts

Page 2: Front and back cover analysis cd 1

Background: I have made the background look quite simple and straightforward so that the band itself stands out and attracts the audiences attention. The fact that I have chosen the colour yellow is because i thought that it will link well with our music genre which is Pop.

The band: I placed the three members in the middle of the page so it attracts audiences attention. The band members are going to be in black and white and their easy pose will make the band easy to recognise. The fact that I did not place each and every band member in a different position is because I wanted to show that all three of them are lead band members and that there isn't a specific one which illustrates there equality in the group.

The typography: I wanted the typography to be in black bold colours so that it ties in with the overall black and white theme.

Album name ‘Canvas’: as a group we decided to call the album name ‘Canvas’ because we thought that it could be a metaphor for the band to express themselves in different ways

Bands name: I wanted the name of the band to be in big letters to make it look simple and straight

forward. The main artists: I placed the main artists again in the middle to draw the audiences attention straight away. I'm planning to make them pose with their electronic items together i.e guitar, drums etc to reinforce that they are a pop band. Also each artist would be in different colours to make them more stand out

Background: the background would me in black because the artists in colour will stand out and reinforce again that they are pop band

Songs titles: I want the song titles in simple font so that it is clear for audiences to read.

The bands name: the typography of the bands name would be the same as the typography on the front cover in order to show the brand identity

Institutional information: I forgot to put the institutional information on the back cover but I would have putted it in the right hand corner in small font because it’s not very important information for the audiences however it still needs to be on the back cover because of copy right laws.
