SPORTS Alongside academics it is equally important to keep

your physique maintained too. As the saying goes

‘healthier the body, sharper is the brain’. Few events

of sports that kept all the FTians on the toes this

semester:

El-Classico SBST VS ARCHI - Football Match (1st August 2018)

One of the most interesting match is the SBST vs ARCHI

football match as both of their first years come face to face

against each other for the first time. Whosoever wins, the

crowd, the cheering and the charm makes the entire

evening greatly successful in all ways.

Aman Cup SBST VS SID -Cricket Match

One of the most awaited match in the campus is always

SBST VS SID. It is the time when the crowd goes crazy, the

energy in the air is vitalizing and the madness is just off the

charts. This match is not just a match it is all about that

feeling, aggression, rivalry, the emotions you can feel in the

air.

Table Tennis Tournament

27th September - 27th October 2018

A Tennis tournament was organized by Gaurav Vakil, sports secretary

of FT PG and Jay Joshi from CEM 2017 batch. The energy of players

was tremendous and encouraged more on the spot registrations. Jay

Joshi won the singles title with Shubham Solanki as runner up while,

Kunal and Sabyasachi from Geomatics won doubles having Shubham

Solanki and Vardan Soi as runners up.

Box Cricket League

It’s that time of the year where the Dhonis and the Virats

and even the Bhuvans inside the class are revealed, and

compete further to achieve the top honours. The Battle was

alive and got kickin' between 7 teams of each batch of FT PG

and 1 alumni team. It went long for 3 days and the league

was won by GEO batch 2017 beating BEP batch 2018 in

finals.

“Cultural events are the melting pots of

ideas.”

This is the sentence that that can do complete

justice to events held at FT

EVENTS

Saviskaran 2018

Saviskaran is the cultural night of FT PG celebrated in the

monsoon semester organized by the council of FT PG

and was led by Kunal Shah, cultural secretary of FT PG

and other council members for a successful event. The

event was held in the S.I.D plaza and FT building

decorated with some really interesting installations,

photo booth, etc. made by the students. The whole day

witnessed a gradual turn of events starting from various

games in the day like ‘Minute to win it’, ‘Tambola’, etc.

and leading to a cultural night having performances by

the most energetic students of FT PG and from other

faculty of CEPT university as well. Plethora of jaw

dropping performances from fusion dances to group

singing, poetry recitation to unique acts were

witnessed. Not to forget the crazy DJ party and amazing

dinner as the closing of the night.

SBST Students’

Performance Night

30th September 2018

One of the occasions that

mark an end to the huge E-

Day event. This is a way of

SBST celebrating the success

of their conscientious efforts

to make the event more than

just a day to remember! This

is a warm gathering where

the UG family dances and

sings to the joy of the event.

The students said “SBST has

been a great part of our lives

and this does strike a loud

chord with our sentiments.

E-DAY The most important event in the faculty of technology would undoubtedly be the engineer’s day,

celebrated on the 15th of September. It showcases the ideas that students have carefully thought out

and hence created to be presented during the annual engineer’s day academic exhibition. The

undergraduates celebrate the foundation of the department as tribute to Bharat Ratna Shri M.

Visvesvaraya on his birthday. On this occasion, we select a socially awakening and relevant subject to

sensitise the students towards their societal commitment and in return help the society. The topic for E-Day 2018 is: “Barrier free Access: Accessibility for the differently abled people in public

spaces. Various events as a part of E-day were organized, some of which are:

Workshop at Blind People’s

Association

It gave students a glimpse into

the hardships that people with

disabilities go through on a daily

basis. The students were shown

taught to help specially abled

people.

Performances!

Semi-Classical dances, bands

from the second and first years!

The firth years has a hard time

letting go off of the mike! Some

cried and laughed together and

couldn’t stop singing nostalgic

songs.

` Treasure Hunt and Parade

This workshop was conducted in order to orient

specially abled people around our campus. The

students from the BPA were extremely excited to

tour the CEPT campus. The treasure hunt was a

great success among the students. A Parade was

also organized, starting from the IIM bus stop, the

students started parading towards CEPT holding

banners which showed the purpose of the parade

and the topic for the Engineer's Day.

E-Day Inaugural Event with Expert

lectures:

This is the final and the most important day

that the students work for. The final report

and students' work is showcased to the

guests and the faculties on this day.

Mame Khan

Concert

It was celebrated as

an after show where

all the students were

invited to enjoy a

night of folk music

with the renowned

singer, Mame Khan.

A number of structures and installations

were proposed for this engineer’s day. All

the installations and structures had a wide

range of materials, with joinery and

precision. A seating space with a spring

mechanism using steel, a cantilevered

bamboo installation, a vault structure

created using MDF were some of the

highlights of engineer’s day, 2018. A few

other installations were show-cased the

next day on the cultural night

The ACAD team is not to be

underestimated either. Sleeping for just 2

hours every day till the final report isn’t

compiled is the essence of the ACAD team.

‘Help me find this document asap!’ is what

you’d hear anytime you enter the 5th year

studio. 7 people huddled over a small table

is what they’re all about.

Besides all the effort and hard work that

students had put into bringing their ideas

to life, there is a side to the event

preparations that only the students know.

The senior students eagerly waited for the

engineer’s day to enjoy 3 consecutive days

of working towards the different structures

and installations. Engineer’s day creates an

environment for the students to learn

about new ideas and designs that are

brought forth, workmanship and a whole

new skill set.

2 a.m. chai breaks and gathiya plates are

what engineer’s day is all about.. You could

hear four different genres of music in 4

different corners of the f.t building the

night before the main day. Dinner was

always an hour later than you’d want it to

be, because that’s the f.t way.

We like our mornings when it’s just the

right amount of sunny. Engineer’s day 2018

had the perfect amount of brilliance.

Puzzle?

Can you guess what I say and identify the language?
