• The NASA Graduate Student Researchers Project (GSRP) is an Agency-wide fellowship program for graduate study leading to masters or doctoral degrees in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering related to NASA research and development. This twelve month award strongly encourages a research experience at the NASA center extending the GSRP Fellowship.

NASA’s HQ Office of Education seeks to implement an Agency-wide system to:

• Provide a single point-of-entry for students seeking NASA internships, fellowships and scholarships

• Enhance national branding of NASA’s internship/fellowship opportunities

• Increase participation of ALL types of Higher Education institutions to recruit and assist students in applying for internships/fellowships, in addressing retention issues and in developing career strategies

• Standardize the selection process and enhance the opportunities for students to transition from interns/fellows to the NASA workforce pipeline, including NASA, Aerospace Contractors, and Academia

• Enhance communication, participation and collaboration between NASA scientists and engineers, colleges and universities, STEM professional organizations and other NASA-related stakeholders

Curriculum Improvement Partnership Award for the Integration of Research (CIPAIR) into the STEM

Undergraduate Curriculum

• Facilitates integration of cutting-edge NASA-related research into the undergraduate educational experience

• Enhances undergraduate faculty teaching and the student’s education across STEM courses and curricula specifically related to NASA missions and human resource requirements

Objectives(a) establishment or strengthening of

relationships of MI faculty with NASA Centers; (b) integration of NASA-related content and research opportunities into the MI curriculum; (c) involvement of students in program development and improvement; and (d) commitment of the MI administration to long-term sustainability.

Goal 3: Increase the number of undergraduate students prepared for employment and/or to enter graduate school in technical fields relevant toglobal climate change.
