1.General Requirement Statement of Compliance with Comments

1.1 ScopeIt is the intent of this specification, whetheror not specifically mentioned herein todescribe a diesel engine driven, crawlertractor, equipped with hydraulicallyoperated semi-universal Dozer with singleshank ripper having operating weight ofappr. 36,000 kgs including ROPS- canopy.

The tractor shall be tropicalized anddependable for operating under thecondition specified in the servicerequirement herein and rough as well asdusty and sand terrains.

We offer one unit of Caterpillar model D8R tractype tractor, which is diesel engine driven, anCrawler tractor, equipped with hydraulicaloperated semi-universal (8SU) bulldozer with tcylinder, single shank ripper and ROPS/FOPcanopy having operating weight of 37,875kg.

We offered ROPS Cab and air conditioner aquoted as optional for your decision.

The offered Caterpillar model D8R Track-typTractor is tropicalized and dependable foperating under the service requirement hereand rough as well as dusty and sand terrains.

1.2 Service RequirementThe dozer to be supplied shall be used inconstruction projects in Ethiopia where thefollowing climatic, altitude andtemperature variations experienced.

1.3.2 MaterialsThe materials of which all parts,attachments, accessories and componentsof the unit bid upon are manufactured and

assembled shall be of the currenttechnology durable and reliable for theintended purpose. The finish shall be ofhigh quality and good workmanship withdependable operation.

The materials of all parts, attachments, accessorieand components of the offered track type tractowill be manufactured and assembled in accordancwith current Caterpillar engineering. They adurable and reliable for the intended purpose antheir finishes are of high quality and goo

1.4 WarrantyThe supplier of the bidder shall guaranteethat all items included and/or furnishedwith the unit bid upon shall be new,unused, of the most recent or currentmodels and incorporate all recentimprovements in design and materials. Thebidder shall also guarantee to replace freeof charge (transport, labour and otherexpenses incurred thereof) any part ofcomponent that breaks or fail to function inany manner under the service conditionsdescribed herein due to defective orinferior materials or poor workmanshipwithin a period of 12 months or 2000hrswhichever comes last, from the date ofreceipt of the unit at final destination.

We guarantee that all items, parts ancomponents of the offered Track Type Tractor ibrand new, unused and of the most recenmodels/version and recent manufactureincorporate current Caterpillar improvements idesign and materials, are of high quality and usstate of the art workmanship.

2 Engine2.1 General

The diesel engine shall perform smoothlyand efficiently under all conditions ofoperation described above and shalldevelop the rated horsepower whenoperating on deferent working condition.

2.2 TypeThe engine shall be four stroke cycles;water cooled; turbocharged with not lessthan six cylinders and should be equippedwith replaceable wet type cylinderssleeves.

2.3 Horse Power

The Cat 3406C engine perform smoothly anefficiently under all conditions of operatiodescribed in the service requirement section abovand develops the rated horsepower according the manufactures current standard when operatinon deferent working condition.

The Cat model 3406C engine is direct injectiofour stroke cycle, water-cooled, turbocharged anafter cooled. The engine has six (6) inline cylindewith replaceable wet type cylinder liners/sleeves.

2.4 Required Engine DataThe manufacturer shall submit certifiedengine data with his bid showing netpower, torque at governed RPM.

The supplier shall also furnish certifiedaverage fuel consumption per hour whenthe dozer is working under different workmodes (heavy, medium and light).

The engine performance curve showing net powetorque and specific fuel consumption, at governeRPM is attached herewith for your reference ancomparison.

The fuel consumption usually depends on thenvironmental conditions, type of machine, futype and operator skills. The average fuconsumption of the caterpillar model D8R tractype tractor when working under different workinload is as follows:-

3 Fuel System
