ScopeIt is the intent of these specifications, whether or not specifically mentioned herein to describe a diesel engine driven, crawler tractor, equipped with hydraulically operated semi-u tilt Dozer and single shank ripper having operating weight of appr. 37,000 kgs including rops and fops canopy and rigid draw bar. Equipped with single shank ripper, penetration depth should be greater than 550mm. Offers with blade other than semi-u type shall be treated as non responsive.

The tractor shall be tropicalized and dependable for operating under the condition specified in the service requirement herein and rough terrains.

We offer 5(five) units of Caterpillar model D8R track type tractors, which are heavy duty, diesel engine driven, and Crawler tractor, equipped with hydraulically operated semi-universal (8SU) bulldozer with tilt cylinder, single shank ripper and ROPS/FOPS canopy.The track type tractor has an operating weight of 37,771kg when it is equipped with lubricants, coolant, hydraulic controls, full fuel tank, and SU blade with tilt cylinder, standard track, ROPS/FOPS Canopy, single shank ripper and operator. The offered track type tractors equipped with single shank ripper having a penetration depth of 1158mm.

The offered Caterpillar model D8R Track-type Tractors are tropicalized and dependable for operating under the service requirement as specified below in rough terrains.

Service RequirementThe track to be supplied shall be used in construction projects in Ethiopia where the following climatic, altitude and temperature variations shall be experienced.

We guarantee that all items, parts and components of the offered Track Type Tractors are brand new, unused and of the most recent models/version and recent manufacturer, incorporate current Caterpillar improvements in design and materials, are of high quality and use state of the art workmanship. We also guarantee to repair or replace free of charge components or parts that may break or fail to function under normal service conditions specified in your tender due to defective or inferior material or poor workmanship within a period 12 months or 2000 hours whichever comes first from the date of delivery at final destination.

Recommended Spare Parts ListThe bidder must furnish the suggested list of recommended spare parts for the first 1000 hrs of operation with price valid for a period of one year.

Non Compliance with SpecificationIn the event that the unit bid upon does not fully comply with these specifications, the bidder shall state definitely wherein the unit he proposed to furnish does not comply, referring to the applicable paragraph of these specifications. When no statement of the contrary is received, the bidder shall be considered as meeting all the provision of the specification under that paragraph and shall be binding to any claims that the authority raises.

EngineGeneral

The diesel engine shall perform smoothly and efficiently under all conditions of operation described above and shall develop the rated horsepower according to the manufactures current standard when operating on deferent working condition.

TypeThe engine shall be four stroke cycles; water cooled; turbocharged with not less than six cylinders and should be equipped with replaceable wet type cylinders sleeves.

Horse PowerThe engine shall deliver min. 300HP SAE J1349 net, at fly wheel at rated RPM equipped with fuel pump, water pump, cooling fan, heavy duty radiator, lubrication oil pump, air cleaner, alternator, hydraulic pump and any other required engine accessories.

The engine mounted on the offered Caterpillar model D8R track type tractors perform smoothly and efficiently under all conditions of operation described in the service requirement section above and develops the rated horsepower according to the manufactures current standard when operating on deferent working condition with commercially available diesel fuel with a sulphur content of 1% and Cetane number of 50.

The Engine mounted on the offered Caterpillar model D8R track type tractors is Caterpillar model 3406C diesel engine, direct injection, four stroke cycle, water-cooled, turbocharged and after cooled. The engine has six (6) inline cylinders with replaceable wet type cylinder liners/sleeves.

UndercarriageTrack frame shall be ruggedly constructed to resist shock loads and permit oscillation between tracks. All components sealed against entry of abrasives and foreign material to give long service life, with minimum maintenance. Track rollers, carrier rollers and idlers shall be life time lubricated. Track chains to be provided with hydraulic adjusters. Each track shall be equipped with minimum 600mm width grouser shoes made of heat treated steel.The track chain of the equipment pin type shall be treated as non responsive.All linkage of steering and transmission is not hydrostatic shall be treated non responsive.

The track frame is ruggedly constructed to resist shock loads and permit oscillation between tracks. DOZING EQUIPMENTThe semi-u blade dozer shall be hydraulically operated with push-pull arms and tilting arrangement.
