Game Development Workshop
Event Name : Industry Experience Day Date : 18th Apr 2018 Time : 10am - 3pm Venue : Level 2, Wentworth Park Grandstand, Wattle St, Ultimo Cost : FREE Contact : Jessica Bull : 85148800 Event Description : AIE's Industry Experience Days are a great opportunity for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 to learn about the local and international game development, 3D animation and visual effects industries. Students will get the opportunity to learn about the different pathways to get into the industry, what should be in a portfolio and will be able to get creative in practical workshops using industry-standard 3D animation and game development tools. The sessions are run by industry professionals who have worked on some blockbuster games and films. Everything is provided for you to participate in the hands-on workshops and you will be using the same software that is used in the industry. Try A Skill Event On 20th June, an event called Try a Skill is to be held at the Ourimbah campus. It is an opportunity to hear about various vocations and trades and, in some instance, to actually have a try at some activities related to various vocations. While the types of vocations on display are yet to be confirmed, the list below gives some ideas of those most likely to be scheduled on the day. There will be industry specialists available to answer questions,
demonstrate their trade and provide immediate
feedback for students.
The activities are run in two sessions. An optional excursion from the College will leave school at 11 am in order to attend the second session, returning for 3:!5pm. A free lunch (sausage sizzle) is provided. Students are encouraged to ask questions and be involved trying any activities that are of interest to them. A permission letter will be available in due course. If interested, please see Mr Russell.

Maths course prerequisite
From 2019, students need to complete the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) Mathematics (not General
Mathematics) in order to meet the requirements for admission into a number of courses, including economics,
commerce, engineering and IT, psychology, pharmacy, veterinary science and science. Learn more about the

Assumed knowledge
For some courses or units of study, we assume you have reached a certain level of knowledge or have passed a
relevant subject at Australian Year 12 level or equivalent. Visit Find a course to check if your course has any
assumed knowledge - it often refers to a New South Wales Higher School Certificate (HSC) subject. To learn
more about the HSC subjects and gain an understanding of the expected level of study in other qualifications
visit the HSC subjects webpage.
Students are generally advised against taking a unit of study or course for which they do not have the assumed
knowledge. If you do not have the assumed knowledge for your course the University strongly recommends that
