RIDERS EDGED BY HOOKS MONDAY: Despite striking out 14 Hooks hitters, the Riders fell 3-1 to Corpus Christi in Monday’s series opener. Each of the four Frisco pitchers struck out at least three hitters. Andretty Cordero got the Riders on the board early with a solo homer in the second. ON A ROLL: Charles Leblanc has returned to his early-season form the last few weeks. After a quiet month of May, in which he hit just .234, Leblanc is batting .313 in his last 22 games and enters play tonight on a six-game hitting streak (10-for-22). He was named a Texas League Midseason All-Star this season after earning the same honor last year in the Carolina League. NO SHORTAGE OF PUNCHOUTS: Last night’s 14-strikeout game for the staff was Frisco’s 26th game with at least 10 pun- chouts this year. The club’s season best is 18, set in a 12-inning win over Corpus Christi May 31. NEW MONTH: The Riders try to flip the script July after going just 6-18 in the month of April. The .250 winning percentage tied the lowest of any month in franchise history (also 6-18 in April 2018). YES, IT’S GOOD TO BE HOME AGAINST THE HOOKS: Frisco looks to continue its recent success against the Hooks at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Dating back to the end of 2018, the Riders have won 14 of the last 19 meetings with the Astros affiliate at Dr Pepper Ballpark, including four of seven this year. game #80 tuesday, july 2 7:05 p.m. Dr Pepper Ballpark • Frisco, TX RHP Ronald Herrera (0-2, 8.56) vs. RHP Bryan Abreu (3-2, 4.58) Video: MiLB.tv • Audio: RidersBaseball.com, TuneIn Radio and MiLB First Pitch App corpus christi Hooks (38-42/5-6) Houston Astros DATE TIME OPPONENT RIDERS STARTER OPPOSING STARTER Wed. 7/3 7:05 pm vs. Corpus Christi RHP Jonathan Hernandez (2-7, 5.66) RHP Cristian Javier (4-2, 2.41) Thu. 7/4 7:05 pm at Amarillo RHP Jason Bahr (0-1, 3.09) TBA Fri. 7/5 7:05 pm at Amarillo RHP Tyler Phillips (1-6, 7.64) TBA Sat. 7/6 7:05 pm at Amarillo LHP Brock Burke (0-3, 4.58) TBA upcoming pitching probables 2019................................................ 35-44 2018................................................ 30-49 Best record ..............
