What is Gear Up?
Gear Up is a discretionary grant funded through a United States Department of Education designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.
![Page 4: Gear Up Presentation 2008 2009](https://reader037.vdocument.in/reader037/viewer/2022103000/554abab3b4c90542708b46be/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
ENMU-Roswell was awarded a six-year grant in 2005 to provide supportive services and programs for Roswell, Hagerman, Dexter, and Lake Arthur school districts. The Program targets and tracks a cohort group of students who began as sixth and seventh graders in 2005-2006.
What is the history of the ENMU-Roswell Gear Up program?

What does Gear Up do?
ENMU-Roswell GearUp Program provides educational services and cultural opportunities to the same group (cohort) of students for a period of six years.
GearUp will continue to provide services
to the same cohort until 2011. At that time, one group of students will be in their first year of college and the other will be high school seniors.
