15 year fast track career with the BP Group in operations management positions in the Middle East, North Sea, and Alaska: development, operations, reservoir management

Subsequently managed a number of independent oil and gas companies operating in Europe, South America, Africa, Asia, and the former Soviet Union. Raised and/or managed oil and gas investments over $600 million.

Responsible for the discovery and initial development of the Rubiales field in Colombia, later valued at $6 billion, producing over 200,000 bopd
