5. Billie Goldin unfortunate change of plans: We have not sold our home and are not sailing around the world. The fates changed our wonderful plan. My husband had a fall and is now in assisted living, in Florida. We will remain here with hope for the future.

6. Ronald Poons identified in 40th Reunion Photos, Page 3 and confirmed by burn scars on his right ear from a big fire that he was fighting. Thank you, Cindy Bloking (daughter of Liz Segal) for this information.

20. Webmaster: Mike Arlow has been in touch with Great Neck South Senior High School Librarian, Judy McClellan, in an effort to get a high resolution copy of the complete first issue of The Southerner student newspaper for website promulgation.

Director of Alumni Relations, Joan Lazaunik, in an effort to obtain contact and related information for members of the Class of 1959 to aid in promulgation of website and reunion information.

Additionally, you will notice that a placeholder has been installed on the home page of our website to include entire copies of the 1959 yearbooks for both the (Arista) north and south (Vista) high schools yearbooks; the yearbooks, when promulgated, will also be searchable for ease of locating specific people, information, events, etc.

Finallly, Mike Arlow has also been in touch with Andrea Fortunoff Abramson by telephone. She chaired our last reunion and graciously provided me with some insight and recommendations that included a suggestion for providing charitable assistance for those classmates who may have financial difficulty in making the journey to our 60th Reunion venue. As always, we are open to, and encourage your comments, recommendations, ideas, input, constructive criticisms, etc.

21. Classmates Caring For Classmates: During Hurricane Irma, many

Florida residents lost their electrical power. Fred Abeles, who lives in Boynton Beach, Florida is currently caring for his aging mother, Helen, in his home; she is 98 years old. When the electrical power failed, Mike Arlow called numerous classmates in Florida to assess their situations and to see if help or communication assistance from afar could be provided. In Fred Abeles case, Fred Giffords was called, who immediately volunteered the use of his Florida dwelling, which had power, for Helen Abeles to use. Helen was near death from heat exhaustion and was having great difficulty in breathing. Unfortunately, she was in too fragile a state to be moved to take advantage of Fred Gifford's offer. Fortunately, she survived and is with us today. Thank you, Fred Giffords for your

Your Webmaster is really happy that Dorothy came on board and is feeding her contact information as it contemporaneously becomes available. The list that Dottie is updating will be used for mailings and other communications, and will also be used to update our online Class Directory.

This afternoon, your Webmaster received an email from Enid Schildkrout Van Couvering, who will be sending in copies of The Guidepost school newspaper for promulgation on our Website.

This evening, Jo Ann Volk Lederman is planning a full weekend, and more, of exciting events for our 60th Reunion. Your Webmaster finds this effort to be incredible, since Jo Ann is still recovering from the

effects of Hurricane Irma. Jo Ann will be planning and coordinating reunion activities with Bruce Colan, Jason Zellner and Masha Schwartz Zellner, and Billie Goldin. This meeting is scheduled to take place at Joanna's Marketplace (family owned) in Miami, FL. It is totally amazing at how quickly things are coming together ! ! !

Additionally, your Website was updated today with additional Announcements, an updated Class Directory, and a new Photo Gallery third page has been added with expandable images (thank you, Eddie Goldin).

From your correspondence and phone calls, I am overwhelmed with the excitement, words of praise, appreciation, anticipation, and sincere thanks that so many of our classmates have recently expressed to me, personally, for working to
