BIOGRAFIA Si laurea con lode presso il dipartimento di architettura Luigi Vanvitelli di Aversa, discutendo una tesi di laurea in progettazione architettonica con relatore prof. arch. Cherubino Gambardella, dal titolo NOTICE FROM [SUPER]NAPOLI, volta a ipotizzare il possibile recupero dell’ ex altoforno Italsider di Bagnoli. Parallelamenteal percorso di studi universitario conduceuna personale formazione architettonica attraverso la partecipazione a concorsidi progetazione. Questo gli permette di sperimentare diversi approcci progettuali e comunicativi incrementando il personale bagaglio formativo. Non trascura la progettazione per quanto concerne elementi d’arredo,realizzando una serie di prodottiche si pongono a metà tra l’industriae la tradizione artigianale.

BIOGRAPHY

He graduated with honors at the Architecture’s department Luigi Vanvitelli in Aversa (CE), discussing a thesis in architectural design entitled NOTICE FROM [SUPER]NAPLES, with relator prof. Arch. Cherubino Gambardella,that hypothesize the possible recovery of Ex Italsider’s blast furnace of Bagnoli’s quarter in Naples. Simultaneously to the university studies lead a personal architectural research trough the partecipation to architecture competition. This allow him toundergo the different planning and comunicative approach increasing the personal formation. He Don’t negletthe furniture’s design realizing a differentproduct that pose itself between the industry and crafmanship tradition.

THINKING I think it’s errate make a difference beetwen architecture and interior architecture.I think only existe the Architecture, that it’s external or internal to something: a square is the exterior of domestic space, but it’s the interior of a city. The domestic space is the interior of an house, but it’s the exterior of a man.

PIENO/VUOTO

L’incendiato museo, con il suo volume a capriate, dà la forma al progetto. Il nuovo Science Centre è ricavato dunque per sovrapposizione ideale al vecchio museo. Il pieno che sovrasta il vuoto lasciato dall’incendio; vuoto che inoltre assume un carattere significativo in termini percet-tivi, garantendo al fruitore la piena visuale sul golfo di Bagnoli che affaccia su Nisida e che guarda a Pozzuoli. Due progetti in uno: Il museo ed il parco della memo-ria, come testimonianza dell’accaduto.

FULL/EMPTY

The burned museum, for its truss roof, shapes the project. So The new Science Centre ideally overlaps the old museum. The full that overlaps the empty, left by the fire; the empty that also acquires a meaningful perceptual character, guaranteeing to the visitor a full view on Bagnoli’s gulf, that overlooks Nisida and Pozzuoli. Two projects in one: the museum and the Memory’s Park, as testimony to the event.

MONOLITO LIGNEO

L’idea di progetto nasce dalla preci-sa volontà di mantenere l’attuale in-gombro del capannone, incrementan-do di un livello lo sviluppo in altezza dell’attuale impianto. Il volume è suddivisibile in due blocchi principa-li: blocco anteriore con la hall, uffici e food area; il blocco posteriore con l’area wellness ed acqua zone. Un monolite costituito da listelli lignei, circondato da alberi e da un giardino sensoriale, accoglie gli ospiti garan-tendo loro relax e riservatezza.

WOODEN MONOLITH

The project idea arises from the pre-cise intention to maintain inside the lot the actual dimensions of the wa-rehouse, increasing of one level the development in height of the current plant . The volume is divided into two main blocks : Block front with hall , offices , food area; rear block with the wellness and water zone. A monolith made up of wooden slats surrounded by trees and a garden sensory recei-ves guests, guaranteing them relax and privacy .

IL FORO E L’ARENA

L’immediata vicinanza agli scavi ar-cheologici ha suggerito la scelta di un impianto semi ipogeo che rispetti la rilevanza storica non solo dell’intera area archeologica ma anche del vici-no anfiteatro. Vi si accede attraverso una rampa pedonale che confluisce nell’ arena, spazio esterno d’acco-glienza adibito a più funzioni come esibizioni temporanee, seminari, eventi musicali. Proseguendo attra-verso un corridoio si entra nell’area museale: un sistema ippodameo di padiglioni che circondano il foro.

FORO AND THE ARENA

The immediate vicinity to the arche-ological area suggested the choise of a semi underground facility that re-spect the historical relevance of the near amphiteater and entire site. It is accessed through a pedestrian ramp that flow into the arena, an external welcome space assigned to more fun-ctions so temporary exhibition, semi-naries, musical events. Proceeding through a passage it is enter into the museum area: an ippodameo system of pavilions that encircle the foro.

COME MASSI DI ROCCIA

Il progetto elaborato scaturisce dalla volontà di una ricerca spaziale cir-ca l’ambiente domestico. Lo spazio interno modella l’immagine finale dei due edifici residenziali. L’unità tipologica è suddivisibile in due ma-cro spazi funzionali: spazi privati e spazi condivisi. I primi consistono in cellule pure, leggibili chiaramente all’interno dell’ambiente, che deli-mitano lo spazio risultante condivi-so. Un ambiente interno flessibile e dinamico; due massi di roccia che emergono dal terreno in declivio.

LIKE BOULDERS OF ROCK

The project borned from the will of a spatial research about the home environment. The interior space shape the final image of the two residential buildings. The typolo-gical unit is divided into two main functional areas: private spaces and shared spaces. The first consist of pure cells, clearly readable in the environment that surround the sha-red space resulting. An interior flexi-ble and dynamic; two boulders of rock emerging from the ground sloping.

Oggetto del concorso era la richiesta abitativa nella piccola comunitàdi Hammaro e la conseguente riqualifica dell’intero insediamento. L’approccio è volto ad immaginareun’idea di vivibilità sostenibile. L’idea è ipotizzare una serie dipunti Hub, nodi di interscambioveicolare dove è possibile lasciare l’auto e spostarsi con bus elettrici. I nuovi edifici (residenze, servizi pubblici) si annettono, come protesi,al dislocato sistema esistente e collegando quest’ultimo al lagoattraverso un parco.

HAMMARÖ2

The object of competition was theresidential request into the small comunity of Hammaro and the conseguent replanning of the entire village. The approach is intended to immagine an idea of sustainableliveablety. Starting from the driveability, the idea is to hypthesizeone series of vehicular interchange’sHub point, in wich it’s possible leavecar and move off with ectrical bus.The new building (residences, pubblic services) add on like prothesis at the dislocated existent system, connecting it to the lake trough a park.

LA LUCE E L’OMBRA

Il NoMC2 ha come matrice di progettoil rapporto tra luce e ombra. Contrasto volto a rappresentarescenograficamente cosa sia la mafia: Una fiera codarda che si nasconde, lontana dalla luce, innegabilmente,più forte. Morfologicamente il progettoè un parallelepipedo rettangolare schiacciato, ipogeo e traforato da una corte centrale . Le funzioni (museo,auditorium,bar, laboratorio creativo)si sviluppano lungo il perimetro. Un ambiente scuro e in ombra, oltrepassato dalla luce in determinati punti. la paura e poi il sollievo.

LIGHT AND SHADOW

The NoMC2 have like matrix of projectthe relationship between light andshadow. The contrast is intendedto represent scenically what is theMafia: a craven wilde beast that conceal herself distante to the light,uneniably, more strong. The Building is a rectangular parallelepiped, hypogeal and with a central patio.The function (exposition area, auditorium, bar, creative lab) are developped along the perimeter. An environment in shadow,overstapped from light in established point. The pain and after the relief.

Irope, più che una sedutaIrope, more than a chair

IROPE

Irope è una comoda seduta per spazi living, sulla quale sedersi e trascorrere del tempo con amici o leggere un libro. E’ il risultato del connubbio tra la precisione industriale e la maestranza artigianale. Due lamieredi ferro tagliate a laser e montate artigianalmente . Le capacità meccaniche della corda permettono diancorare la stessa con semplici nodi, definendo tre diversi piani: seduta, schienale, portaoggetti. Questipermettono inoltre una divertentefunzione: incastrare riviste o piccoli libri.

IROPE

Irope is a comfortable chair for livingspace, on it sit and to pass a time with friends or to read a book. The result ofbond between the industryand the the craftmanship. Two metalsheet worked to laser cutting andassembled. The mechanical skills of the rope allow to anchor it withsimple knots, defining three differentplane: seat, seatback, storage. This permit so a fun function: to insert megazines or small book between the rope.

SLIM CHAIR

Slim chair nasce dallo stesso concetto di Irope per quanto concerne l’uso dei materiali adottati: ferro e corda. Differentemente dalla prima, è un oggetto prettamente artigianale. Si offre come semplice seduta da tavola in spazi living. Pensata in duevarianti nel trattamento del telaio : 1. telaio verniciato nero2. telaio di ferro lasciato a vista.

Slim chair born from the same conceptof Irope about the use of the material:iron and rope. Differently from thefirst, is an object essentially handcrafted. Give itself like a simple chair for table in living space. Designed in two different model ofstructure’s treatment: 1. black varnished structure2. unrefined iron structure

SLIM TABLE

Slim table è un tavolo con piano d’appoggio di forma circolare. Ricavato dal taglio laser di una lamiera, i piedisono il negativo del piano d’appoggio: il suo disegno permette una lavorazione con zero materiale di scarto. Il risultato è un oggetto dalla linea sottile ed elegante. Ideato nellavariante di colore nero opaco.

SLIM TABLE

Slim table is a table with a round support plane. Obtained from lasercutting of metal sheet, the foot arethe negative of support plane: its design permit a production withoutwaste. The result is an object withthin and elegant line. Ideated in the matte black varnished variant.
