Tobacco use is responsible for:80% of esophageal cancer deaths,at least 85% of the emphysema deaths,most of nearly 4,000 throat cancer deaths,and the risk of developing lung cancer is 10 times greater for smokers than it is for non-smokers.

In addition, smokers have:twice the risk of having a strokeand four times the risk of heart disease.

Nurture yourself- Instead of turning to cigarettes when cravings hit and you feel stressed or anxious - take a walk, listen to some music, practice long, deep, breathing exercises, take a hot bath, go for a run around the block and learn to nurture yourself.

Remove all traces of cigarettes- Wash all your clothes and freshen up any furniture, carpets or other items that smell of cigarette smoke.

Make a craving Journal- Keep a log of your smoking, the time when you crave a cigarette throughout the day/evening a week leading up to your quitting date.
