1750 acres of mangrove cover

It is a habitat conserved against the highest

urbanization pressures

The mangroves serve as the green

lungs of the city

16 species of mangroves and mangrove

associates are present here

Apart from 206 species of birds, 30 species of

reptiles, 13 species of crabs, 7 species of prawns,

20 species of fish have been identified so far
