Second Sunday of Easter April 19, 2020

READINGS April 19, 2020

Acts 2: 42-47 Ps 118 1 Pt 1: 3-9 Jn 20: 19-31

SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER “All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their property and possessions and divide them all according to each one’s need.” The ear ly church prac-ticed the purest form of stewardship. Their generosity was a realization that all they had belonged to God and it was entrusted to them for the sake of others. REST IN PEACE Please remember in your prayers all loved ones of our parish family who have died, especially John Crowe, brother of Philip Crowe. May God grant him eternal joy and peace. Please keep the Crowe family in your prayers. EMAIL UPDATE It is important that the church has your most up-to-date in-formation on file. We have very few email addresses and the ones that we do have are not current. Please phone the office at 502-749-9780 to make sure we have your current contact information. MASS OF THE AIR 11 AM and 6:30 PM on the Faith Channel (Spectrum channel 19). 10:30 AM on WHAS-TV (channel 11). This Mass is also streamed live on the Faith Channel at www.faithtvlive.com MARRIAGE MOMENTS April 22 is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. Pick one day this week to especially enjoy creation together. Take a hike, plant something, gaze at the moon and stars. Be creative together. PARENTING POINTERS April is Child Abuse Prevention month. While the clergy sexual abuse scandal has rocked the Catholic Church, it has also called us to be “holy families” who are agents of honesty, change, and preven-tion. Claim your call. GIVE ONLINE Giving online is easy and allows you to set up automatic re-curring contributions and view your complete online giving history from anywhere you have access to the Inter-net. Simply follow these easy steps: Visit the church website at www.goodshepherdchurch.us Click on the Giving heading, Click on the Create Profile button, then Follow the onscreen instructions to create an online profile and to schedule your recurring contribu-tions.

Loving and Faithful God, through your prophet you assure us of your Love during this “corona-chaos” time, when fear wants to overtake us. In these days of not knowing what will be, help us to trust in your presence with us always, as we live into what is. May we place our hope for what will be in Your unshakable covenant of Peace. May our faithfulness to that covenant bring each of us to a new perspective on our life so that together we can realize your promise of Peace. We ask this as we ask all things in the name of Jesus who lives and loves forever. Amen. Sister Maxine Shonk, OP
