What is a Funeral

A Funeral is a ceremony or gathering to honor, celebrate, and remember the life of your

loved one.

This can be done in any way YOU decide!

A church service, a memorial service, a party, a last hike, a graveside service, are all

funerals and there is no right one. All that is important is that family and friends have a

time to come together and share memories and support one another.

The funeral is to celebrate the memory of the deceased, and for the health of the living,

by having a funeral, you help ease the emotional stress of grief.

Remember there is no right way to have a funeral only your way!

This process is NOT about anyone or anything else, but what YOU want for YOUR

loved one. I pledge that I will not pressure you into anything that you don’t want, or

don’t need. Goodwin Funeral Home & Cremation Services is not trying to be the

biggest firm in the state, I am only here to serve YOU and I do that one family at a time.

The goods and services we provide are shown below. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral

arrangements you select will include a charge for our essential services and overhead. If legal, or other requirements

mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement

we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

The GPL does not include prices for specific items that you may ask us to purchase for you, such as

cemetery or crematorium charges, flowers, and newspaper notices. The prices for those items will be shown

on the statement of funeral goods and services selected.

Our services include: Conducting the arrangement conference; planning the funeral; consulting with family and clergy;

shelter of remains; preparing and filing of necessary notices; obtaining necessary authorizations and permits;

coordinating with the cemetery, crematory, or other third parties.

Also, this fee includes a proportionate share of our necessary overhead costs. This fee for our essential services and

overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. This fee is already included in our charges

for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.

hours.

However, many do cemeteries require that you have such a graveliner or a vault so that the grave will not sink in. A burial or urn vault is a protective outer container for the casket or urn.
