1. Overview For a Savant System to be able to function with a Google Home device or the Google Assistant App, the following must be completed:

− A Savant Pro System (Host and SDE/MacBook) running da Vinci 8.4 or higher.

− Configurations created using a Blueprint version lower than 8.4 must be updated. To do this: 1. Open an existing configuration into an 8.4 or higher version of Blueprint. 2. Allow the configuration to update to 8.4 or higher profiles etc. 3. Upload the updated configuration to the Savant Host

− The Host in the system must be linked to a Savant Cloud account. (Supported Hosts – All Savant Pro System Hosts)

− One Google Home account per Savant Pro System is supported.

− Google Home and Google Assistant are supported on both Android and iOS

2. Google Home Setup The instructions below assume the following:

− The user has a Google account already set up.

− The user has a Savant Cloud account setup.

− The Google Home App and Google Home device (Google Home, Google Mini, Google Max) are configured and can communicate with each other.

If the Google Home device is not set up on your iOS device, refer to https://support.google.com/googlehome and select the GET STARTED WITH YOUR GOOGLE HOME DEVICE tab.

The instructions below describe how to download the Savant Skills to the Google Home device.

IMPORTANT! All images shown below were taken from an iPhone. When using a device other than an iPhone, realize that some of the screens may not look exactly like what is shown in the instructions.

1. From your mobile device, select the Google Home icon .

2. Select the menu icon ( ). 3. In the menu that opens, select Home control.

4. Select the DEVICES tab if not already highlighted. 5. Select the Add button from the Home Control screen that opens. 6. Select the Savant Systems skill from the Add Devices page that

opens.

7. Enter your Savant Cloud login credentials and select LOGIN. 8. Read the permissions screen and select ALLOW to the request if you

agree.

9. The devices in your Savant Pro system are automatically assigned a room. To change the room assignment, select the edit icon and modify which room the device is assigned to. If the default rooms set are OK, select DONE.

10. In the You’re all set! Screen, select GOT IT. At this point, the Google Home device is now ready for commands.

11. Speak any of the supported Savant Skills to the Google Home Device and verify the command is executed. Refer to the Supported Commands section below.

3. Google Assistant Setup The instructions below assume the following:

− The user has a Google account already set up.

− The user has a Savant Cloud account setup.

− The Google Assistant is downloaded and on your mobile device. If the Google Assistant App is not currently running on your mobile device, it can be downloaded and installed through either the Apple iTunes or Google Play Store.

Follow instructions below to download the Savant Skills to the Google Assistant App on your mobile device.

1. Select the Google Home icon . 2. Either login as a different google user or CONTINUE as the

google email address that is already registered with the mobile device.

3. In the page that opens, select the Explore icon from the top right side of screen.

4. From the Explore page that opens, select the additional options ( ) icon.

5. Select Settings from the pop-up menu (see diagram to right). 6. Select Home Control from the Settings page that opens.

7. Select the Add button from the Home Control screen that opens. 8. Select the Savant Systems skill from the Add Devices page that

opens.

9. Enter your Savant Cloud login credentials and select LOGIN. 10. Select ALLOW to let google access your pro system. An account

linked message will open and then the Savant Pro System will be displayed on the Home Control page.

11. Navigate back to the Google Assistant main page or close and reopen the google assistant.

12. Select the microphone at the bottom of the page and speak one of the supported commands -or- select the keyboard and enter one of the supported commands. Refer to the Supported Commands section below.

4. Supported Commands For a Savant Home, the following Devices will be returned:

Scene Commands

Hey Google, turn on <Scene Name> Hey Google, activate <Scene Name>

Activate a scene (shared or authenticated user) that does not include an unlock or disarm function.

Room Commands

Hey Google, turn on <Room Name> Hey Google, turn off <Room Name>

Switch all lights in a specific room on or off -and- switch the last active A/V service in that room on or off.

Hey Google, turn on <Room Name> Media Hey Google, turn off <Room Name> Media

Switch the last active A/V service in a specific room on or off.

TIP! Media can be replaced with AV or Service

Room Lights

Hey Google, turn on <Room Name> lights Hey Google, turn off <Room Name> lights

Switch all lights in a specific room on or off.

Hey Google, set the <Room Name> lights to <percentage> Sets lights in a specific room to a dimming level between 0 - 100%.

Switch all lights on or off.

Hey Google, set lights to <percentage> Set all lights to a dimming level between 0 – 100%

Refresh Data Hey Google, Sync my devices Re-sync with system to refresh when changes are made to either a scene or configuration.
