libraryIt’s great to see BIFS elementary students’ continued enthusiasm for reading. However, we are really are looking forward to our new supply of books that are expected to arrive before the end of the school year! I’m happy to hear any of your suggestions for books or topics to be added to our library. Please also email me if you have any particular concerns about your child’s borrowing habits.
All the books we read in elementary library lessons are described in the library blog:http://bifslibrary.wordpress.com. Each week we read a story that links to the PYP attitudes and what is being done in
class and usually watch a short video c l ip re lated to the s tory. This information is posted to the blog weekly.
Students are encouraged to borrow as many books as they can realistically read in one week. Please remember that books are due back each week so that they are available for others to borrow. Students can also renew library books that they are still reading. Parents are welcome to borrow books in their child’s name from any of the libraries (ELC, Elementary or Middle/High).
A reminder that we also have audiobooks available for students to download to a usb drive and upload onto their own listening devices. We source our audiobooks from http://www.audiogo.com/uk and you are welcome to go to that site, choose ‘Children’s’ from the category and then choose ‘Audio download’ format to select from over 1000 titles. Email me with the titles of stories you would like and I will buy them and make them available for download from the elementary library.
