I was waiting for her in the morning at her locker with roses because I heard that she usually goes to her locker, but school was about to start so I decided to look for her at her car. Later I saw her walking into the courtyard and she asked me "Who are the flowers for?" and I didn't know what to say and I was like "Oh, uh, they're for you!" - Roheet Kakaday and Jessica Endo

I asked his roommates if I could go in his room to set up to ask him to senior ball and they said it was ok, so I did. I took green guitar picks, because green is his favorite color and he plays the guitar, and put them in Easter eggs with Reeses, because Reeses are his favorite. All the guitar picks had a letter on them and together it said "Senior Ball?" I hid the Easter eggs around his room and when he found all of them he called me. _- Jill Eversole and Gino Ellington

She was given roses in certain increments with a line to a poem attached to each rose. And by the end of the day she had twelve roses and the last note asked her if she wanted to go to Senior Ball. -Allen Armas and Cristina Resendiz

His friend called and told me he was going to drop off something and I wasn't expecting anything so I wasn't ready when he rang the doorbell and had flowers and balloons in his hands. - Jessica Fong and Mihn Tran

I made a question mark with lit candles in front of her driveway at night. Then I played the guitar to one of Jimmy Eat World's songs but with my own lyrics asking her to Senior Ball. - Colby Cheung, junior, and Tracy Tang

I work in the career center and Mrs. Small had to call her in so she could pick up her work permit. When she was called in, Mrs. Small told me to get the permit for her from the cabinet and I grabbed it and the rose together and gave it to her.

-Robert Pardee and junior Jennifer

I decorated her car with streamers and balloons with a rose and a note. That note sent her to another place and that place would be decorated the same as the first place and I did the same for a couple of other places. The last note directed her to our spot at Lake Chabot and I was standing there with a rose and asked her to senior ball. - Andrew Brown and Caitlin Nalty

Ahhh, the lemon-filled days of journalism

1. “Eye to Eye” – The Goofy Movie SoundtrackThis Disney classic became a sort of theme song for our class. Why? I have absolutely no idea, but listening to it a few hundred times at our late nights have drilled every word into my brain.2. “Peaches” – The Presidents of the United StatesThis song about moving to the coun-try and eating a lot of peaches con-tains absolutely no sexual innuendo whatsoever. 3. “Lay Down the Law” – The SwitchesThis CD arrived for our class at the height of our witch obsession, and we had a lot of fun with the stickers. So what are you here for? Listen to the Switches.4. “Do You Feel” – The Rocket Sum-merDrooling over pictures of Bryce in tight striped shirts and making prank

Journalism Soundtrack, you know you want to listen

Thanks to Ryan McNulty for taking this photograph

love phone calls really made me question my sexuality.5. “Weasel Stomping Day” – Weird AlOur theme song for Journalism Holidays, Weasel Stomping Day takes place on June 31 each year. 6. “Unicorn” – Irish RoversThis song came out of our obsession with mythological creatures.7. “Lip Gloss” – Lil MamaWe needed a little hip-hop to spice up our soundtrack, but maybe this was the wrong song. Oh well, at least she’s better than Soulja Boy.8. “Rock Lobster” – The B-52’sIt’s about a rock lobster, what else do you want to know?9. “Fergalicious” – FergieEven though we mostly listened to this “quirky rump shaker” last year, it still makes our chart. As a bonus, now I know how “tastey” is really spelled.10. “Octopus’s Garden” – Ringo StarrOur leader Ostrich commanded us to listen to this song, and it is a very good song indeed.

Good Bye Everyone

Meet Your Journalism Seniors Ostrich will be gone but never forgotten

Congratulations on all of your hard work, the hours slaving away on tedious homework, the superfluously long school days, reading the Olympian and overall just staying cool. So, class of 2008, let’s get out into the world and show them what we can
