item of your choice. A card based counter top point of sale display that

y competitor!s product is a well"made design that includes all the right ob#ectives to be

eye"catching and perfect for marketing a book. It!s a well"made and planned design to

create a unique icon for the book cover itself, to make it into a good advertisement target

for all the requirements. $he designs this book has seemed to have been considered with

the needs of what their audience would have wanted, what would have brought a bigger

audience. It is mostly their design and artwork that made the marketing very successful.

%evertheless, the book has got a bigger history behind their designs & from the times that

it was written & thus making it easier to decide between what the icons of the restaurant

should be like. $he names, colours and di'erent such things company provided made itinto a great eample of what a professional and unique design should be like.

y $arget arket is for the design to be suitable for everything. ostly for the

environment and what the book is all about & make it resemble a book and attract

di'erent ages of people. hat is important is to keep it eco"friendly and make sure the

design looks friendly to all audiences to attract more readers. y book cover design

should be created using the right colours and items *tting for what the audience wants

to see most and unique enough to be noticed. It is attention that should be dragged out

in the book!s design whether it is the name, the design or artwork, it must be eye"

catching.

+romotion should be considered as it!s a part of the book!s process of bringing even

bigger audiences in & the design is what has to pick people!s minds to let them know that

the book they want to read, is this one and not another. ther book cover designs should

be brought into consideration of how to make your design more unique than the other

and resemble an a'ectionate di'erence from others to be successful.

I have decided

to create the book design considering other competitors with a similar $arget

Audience, yet unique in its own way to make it better and stand out. I would try to use

di'erent colours (and items if provided) to make the icon of the book di'erent than any

other for the right attraction of the audience and advertisement needed.

$he book cover design mostly uses bright colours for book covers to attract a bigger

audience. $his makes it hard to create unique icon to the book, especially to attract the eye

of a bigger audience.

-urthermore, creating a design that is di'erent but also professionally created than a famous

book cover design!s is a rather more of challenge but should be planned and created

+romotion should be one of the main factors that give the book attention. $he more people there are in the target audience of the

book, the better. $hat means it has to be an eye"catching and attractive to most of the people and should be all"friendly.

$he design should cover all the information required to be in it. $his means that the design should not be confusing, friendly to

most target audiences in terms of reading and understanding what the main selling is all about.

onvenience

$he designed item should be conveniently used and displayed. $he item should either stand out or be conveniently used but

should not restrict any types of factors for other designs or sorts of usage.

aterials

$he design should be used with recyclable and environment"neutral material. It shouldn!t be made with design that doesn!t *t it

and should hold the design safely in place, should meet the requirements of durableness of the designed item.

$he design has to be of decent colours that *t the main idea of the book. It should have the right images and the cover should be -/001

2ere I have tried to design ideas

for a bookmark & a promotion item

for the book. It had to feature the

book and take advertisement in

consideration of making the

design. I wanted to go with a

rather mysterious look because of

the book!s plot and I wanted it to*t the book!s design itself. $he two

Lithography

A printing plate with a relief image is dampened with

water and then coated with ink. The ink only sticks to the

parts of the plate that are not wet with water. The printingplate is fixed to a roller and the image is transferred onto

paper fed under the roller.

In offset-lithography, the paper does not come into

direct contact with the printing plate. Instead, the image

is transferred to a rubber roller.

Lithography is used for medium and long print runs of

products such as magazines, posters, packaging and
