I have set up a little sister to paperheart graphics – bluebird design – a web company specialising in WordPress websites.

Focusing on creating sites for start-ups, small businesses, charities and community groups; these sites are clean, fresh and professional-looking, whilst being affordable.

I was asked to create a branding identity for a new restaurant in Heswall. The owner, Kevin, gave me the brief. The colours were to be kept black, white and red to be in keeping with the interior of the authentic, rustic American steakhouse restaurant.

I created logo concepts which were simple yet contemporary. We developed the selected design, adding more of a distressed look to the text and add in an image of a bull’s head.

As part of the visual branding, I was asked to design a business card, headed paper, loyalty card, feedback card, take out menu and table menu – some of which are displayed below.

I was asked to create two logos; using the same concept for a new business venture.

Paul, the Founder, wanted a text-based logo, with colour throughout with the tagline and the 'powered by' line. The initial logo concepts are displayed here. The organisation is called we ebay it, however, there is an umbrella company, WirralSellers, which had to be integrated within the business stationery - shown here.

My honorary nephew’s pre-school hosted a party night for the parents to raise money.

As the school is a charity, this is the primary source of income. I did this project pro

bono as I wanted to help out.

The brief stated three pieces of artwork were needed: a save the date flyer, a

general flyer (right) and an invitation. They had to be modern and eye-catching.

I used the theme of a faded sunburst in three different colours, along with circles using the colours of the logo and adding

some for effect.

I was able to add my logo on as ‘payment’!

Who Can Cut It? is a new hair and beauty website with all the news, views and celebrity styles.

Becky, the MD, asked me to help with graphics for print and web.

I designed an appointment card for stylists to pass on to their customers to rate their services on Who Can Cut It?’s directory (top), a window sticker for salons to advertise (bottom left) and some website graphics (a sample bottom right).

Such an ace project to be working on - so exciting to be involved in such a great new concept and a business based locally!

Lauren of Wirral Muddy Rugs asked me to create a leaflet for her equine laundry and soon-to-be tack shop business.

I immediately thought of a stable door concept. To pull this off, the leaflet had to have a gate fold. I loved the idea of opening the front of the leaflet (the stable doors) to reveal hay (inside the stable). The reverse is a closed stable door.

I utilised Lauren’s corporate colours and used complimentary fonts – a handwritten-style typeface on text to be emphasised which reflects the friendly and approachable nature of the organisation. This is contrasted with a clear, simple and fresh typeface for the majority of the information.

I’m so proud of this leaflet design; I think it’s an ace concept! And Lauren was a fan too!!

I was asked by Angela, Owner of Little Cherubs day nursery, to create a marketing and communications strategy in order to help increase occupancy. I did so, as well as creating the beginnings of a brand and identity using corporate fonts and colours which I added into the guidelines.

From my strategy, Angela asked me to design artwork for display (shown above), a poster, adverts and artwork for appointment cards.

I loved creating these pieces of artwork for Angela - such lovely marketing collatoral to work on!

I had a complete free reign on this project of designing a logo for Freespirit Coaching,

as there was no design brief.

I loved using a variety of fonts, colours, images and text - and different placements

of these elements to come up with numerous design ideas.

Although the top logo was selected, I was pleased with the second design (with the birdie being set free, the organisation

having done its work) and the last concept (the tree to represent people growing and

overcoming problems).

All in all, I was pretty happy with myself - I think the client was too!

Brimark Signs designs, manufactures, installs and maintains a complete range of external and internal signs.

I was asked to design a presentation folder and display sheets to take to clients showcasing their work.

I used corporate colours and fonts in order to maintain the brand and identity, with a very clear grid system for the images on the display sheets and a film strip concept for the presentation folder.

for DeepSearch to advertise the courses

they offer.

I followed the branding of the

organisation, using the logo and

corporate colours.

I used brilliant white quite heavily so it

contrasted very clearly with the vibrant orange.

The Governance Officer from local housingassociation, Wirral Partnership Homes, asked me to design a flyer to advertise their AGM and Garden Competition Award Ceremony.

The brief was to produce a flyer which was fairly formal to be circulated to their tenants.

I selected an image of a daisy to reflect the clean design I wanted to convey (and also to fall in line with the Garden Competition aspect of the flyer).

Clear text was required for ease of communication as there was a large amountof information to be included!
